Exclusive: We Are Underdogs’ Next Shoe, METAMORPH, Was Designed by Daniel Gonçalves

We Are Underdogs is a creative platform that is producing the concept sneakers of PENSOLE students in an effort to inject irreverence, exclusivity, and quality into today’s sneaker market. The next shoe releasing is Daniel Gonçalves’ METAMORPH.

The METAMORPH was first unveiled for the 2018 PENSOLE World Sneaker Championship as a concept sketch and while it made it up to the top 16 designs it was not picked as a winner. However, thanks to We Are Underdogs, sneaker enthusiasts will be able to purchase a production version of this stunning and unique design in a very limited run — just 99 pairs worldwide.

Handcrafted by shoemakers in Portugal, the METAMORPH is designed to resemble a prototype under construction. The low cut sneaker flaunts overlaid patterns, stitches, and asymmetrical details while curved lines offer movement to the silhouette.

Constructed from soft split suede, nappa calf leather, and polyester mesh, the METAMORPH features round laces and hexagonal pattern mesh for a modern-meets-old school look. The shoe rides atop a chunky rubber outsole.
