Rumor: Jeremy Lin Signs with adidas

I don’t know how true this is but rumor has it that Jeremy Lin has signed with adidas. If this is true, I think its an interesting acquisition and maybe one that Dwight Howard had a small part it. Will Lin get his own signature with the brand? Personally, I don’t think Lin is a signature caliber athlete here in the US but who knows how popular he is in China so I suppose its a very slight possibility. More than likely we’d see some PE editions like we do with Rubio and nearly every other adidas athlete.

Again, this is just a rumor and I’m not reporting this to be true, however, if true… what are your thoughts?

    1. Agreed and if he got a sig shoe what would they call……….adidas adizero Lin I don’t know

    1. Both of his parents came from Taiwan.

To be honest, he is quite popular here in China, but I wouldn’t think adidas will make signature shoes for him.

  1. He’s a cash cow… Nike signed him coming in to the league years ago because of potential to bring in the big ducks from all over the world. Doubt they ever thought he’d get this big. Can’t believe they’re gonna let him walk… Feels like the Knicks situation all over again lol.

  2. No matter how inconsistent he is, I would like to see Adidas give him a signature shoe, just to bring something new to the table. All the Rose models look similar (even if new tech is brought along), and the Howard signatures are not very attractive IMO. Maybe a player like Lin could push Adidas to try new things, like designing more low tops. I know Adidas is more than capable of producing good shoes, but a new line could bring more excitement…

    1. back in the day on kicksology.net adidas had a sick i mean SICK low top i rememeber you can probably look it up and had very good reviews.. were talking ehh maybe 2001 to 2005 they were around you could find them for sale..

  3. considering that Adidas is gonna incorporate Boost foam in their 2014 lineup, I don’t see why it’s a big deal to ditch Nike. I still like Nike and Jordan Brand but you can’t go wrong with Adidas.

  4. I go to China a lot and the place I go he’s not very popular but in Taiwan, you see pictures of him everywhere, he’s crazy popular

  5. but why?

and his youtube channel is full of videos of him wearing Nike stuff though. I hope he doesn’t have to delete them… 🙁

    1. Of course Battier would get one. I think every PEAK players do. Kyle Lowry, JaVale McGee, even Scola!

  6. He isn’t consistent enough because he doesn’t get along with James Harden. They can’t be on the floor together so he doesn’t get that many minutes

  7. Is that his current logo? With adidas, they can just use the three stripes, connect the first two to make a ‘J’ and add a line to the third to make an ‘L’.

  8. no offense to you or any other out here but who or what is signature player to me its to be representitive of ALL who are into basketball not just people who are close to 7 feet and have all the stats to say they are the best.. i thought other day not everyone can play in nba but we can buy a ticket so arent we just as important.. without us there would be no them.. so let all types of players have some sort of contract .. wow paste a log refering to the player on the shoe.. how much extraq in china will that cost…. id personally get behind lin even though im not a christian anymore i like him as a player. new york want having all that drama they got scared.. anthony probably had to have the limelight back or something.

  9. Houston Rockets G Jeremy Lin has agreed to a shoe deal with adidas, thus departing Nike. The source spoke on condition of anonymity due to adidas having yet to have made an official announcement on the agreement. According to the source, the announcement will come on Friday.

    1. Nah man adidas can’t do that linsanity stuff to if they did they probably have to pay nike to use the name or get sued for using it without permission

  10. I think adidas is desperate right now! After Rose tearing his MCL, I do think they are losing to Nike badly. If it is true it wont affect them that much in the US but will greatly be good for them in Asia. I think Adidas should just work their “face” with Lillard and Wall since they have been the superstar caliber player of Adidas. And they should just rework out Rose’s signature more differently and I do think they can do it if the Rumors of the Rose 5 are Boost foam.
