Release Date for the adidas D Rose 8

About a month ago, we had reported on what was speculated to be the adidas D Rose 8, but there were no release details available at the time.

Now, a reputable leaker has confirmed that it was the D Rose 8 and has leaked a release date.

According to US 11, the D Rose 8 is scheduled to drop on October 28, about three weeks after the adidas Dame 4 and about a week after the start of the 2017-2018 NBA regular season.

The previously leaked D Rose 8 featured what appeared to be a jacquard upper with fuse at the eyestay and quarter. While the fuse remains on this pair, the jacquard appears to have been replaced with mesh, although this could just be the design.

As always, if the materials on this colorway do not tickle your fancy, just be wary that adidas tends to release multiple versions, some with better materials, of the same sneaker later down the line.

The traction on the D Rose 7 was great so hopefully the trend will carry onto this D Rose 8, even with the translucent outsole. Of course, the shoe sits atop a full-length Boost midsole.

No word yet on the tech specs of this particular build of the D Rose 8 however, so take this with a grain of salt.

  1. The styling of this shoes leaves a lot to be desired, especially with how technical the DRose 7 looked, but maybe the materials and other iterations will make up for it? I’d be interested in seeing what the other CWs look like. I’ll wait to reserve my final judgment, but they look like a Boost version of the Explosive Bounce

    1. I agree with you there. The silhouette looks like an amalgamation of the Explosive Bounce and the Crazy Hustle.

  2. They look quite generic: remind me of the ai series where the later model looked crap and forgettable.

Wondering if adidas is considering pulling the plug on d.rose as he has not been the superstar we hoped he would have been. Still like him, dont get me wrong but hes not been a franchise player and with his trades he didn’t find a home

    1. Yeah I agree, honestly it looks like the D Rose line may be downgraded to almost a budget signature shoe. My guess is Adidas is gonna focus on the Harden line now, put all the innovative tech and stuff there

    2. Similar to what they did with Dwight’s signature line. The last one was basically a mid/high top version of another line.

I think Rose will have a decent year and being on the Cavs and winning on National broadcasted games will definitely boost his market value a bit.

    3. I don’t think they’re pulling the plug just yet, though we’re expecting the price to drop. Not to the degree of a budget sig, akin to Lillard, but adidas may start to slowly phase him out and focus on Harden and Lillard.

  3. Indeed looks (looks) like Adidas is starting to pull back on Rose as Harden may become their new face. Wouldn’t be surprised if these land at a $130 price point.

But we could be thrown a curveball here in terms of performance. Adidas wouldn’t self-sabotage a line and they’re probably going with a less-is-more approach. I assume a lot of people didn’t like the look of the 7 and 6. That lacing setup could have something more to it because we don’t know where that eyelet cord thing ends. It could run/anchor around the heel. It could be a lighter shoe. We don’t even have a clear view of the torsion/cage setup. I’m not saying this as a Rose or Adidas fanboy, but being hopeful that we get an even better shoe than before, for the sake of there being a better shoe on the market.

  4. Seems like it’ll play similar to the 7, although we’ll have to see if the traction is as good. Personally, I’d like it to have boost as plush as the 6. That would pique interest for people even if they aren’t Rose fans, if it was the boost-iest boost ball shoe available.

  5. Kind of like how the LeBron 14 looked like a Soldier, these look like the 773. Not a lot of signature in this design, more like a team-shoe.

    1. True. It’ll be interesting to see what they have for the 773, if they decide to continue that line.

  6. If the traction is good and a low version drops with solid heel lockdown, I’d get these. I have no problem with a plain looking shoe that works.

  7. Admittedly, they do look a little blah to me. I’m still most likely gonna pick them up though. I’m still a D Rose fan and want to show that. Plus, I’ve just always found his shoes to work well for me.
