Performance Teaser: Jordan CP3.VI AE

Remember when I said the Jordan CP3.VI was a near perfect shoe in their Performance Review? Well, meet Mr. Perfect…

SONY DSC

The only real issue I had with the CP3.VI was that my heel wouldn’t stay in place. I’ve heard numerous different experiences both agreeing and disagreeing with me. Does that mean that some of us are crazy and the others are sane? No… even though some of us are crazy – joking… sort of. All it proves is that different foot shapes and sizes can have different effects with different shoes.

With the CP3.VI AE my foot feels secure and each time I push off my heel doesn’t feel like its slipping out of them. Heel lockdown is on par with the best of the best this time around… and I consider the best low cuts to come from the Kobe line.

This is the only Performance Teaser that I will post on these until the full Performance Review. Why? If you can’t figure that out with the first intro line then you might want to consider going back to school… or staying in it depending on your age.

  1. I don’t think I need a performance review to decide if I should pick these up. Gonna first thing when they release on 17th. So long rose 3s

  2. Hey nightwing… how come u didn do a performance review on th melo m8 advance… i mean itz lik th cp3.6 n th AE’s situation???

  3. Hey nightwing, could u elaborate on the podulon cushioning system? I’ve never tried it before. How does ur compare to zoom and lunarlon in terms of responsiveness, impact protection and durability?

    1. I’m not as good with this stuff as nightwing, but I played in both the cp3.v and cp3.vi (which both feature podulon which incase you didn’t know is a dual density cushion setup that features certain sections of what I belive is cushlon in the heel/forefoot and a lightweight phylon surrounding it ) and I love it! It isn’t quite responsive as zoom but it does it’s job. I personally like it 10 times more than lunarlon and surprisingly enough, I find it a bit more soft on landings. I’ve been wearing them since January and the cushion is still perfectly fine, just a few signs of wear. Hope that helped!

  4. YO NW, Dope – with you on this & its refreshing to see some reviews coming threw. Seems like you had a Dip in the action for minute. I was not sure if i was gonna Pick these up since i got 2 pairs of the regular. But the Black and blue grew on me and i’m gonna bust and yeah i was a Heel Slippage confirm er also. Seperate Topic. Have you tried the Nike Lunar Force 1 High tops on?? SICK!! Super comfy. Mine will show up Friday and i’ll Post a review on You tube – who knows maybe it gets immortalized here. Peace.

    1. No dip, just some much needed rest for my legs. That whole Ware incident really threw in my face the importance of rest. There would be nights that my legs felt like glass so seeing his shatter like it was a wake up call. When you get your review up send me the link and ill take a look.

      1. i felt the same way, father time catches up to all of us, realized i need to get more rest, and focus on strengthening legs to prevent injury.

  5. the cp3.vi is, as you said, pretty much immaculate in every conceivable respect besides the fit, i relish the thought of putting them on every chance i get, though i know at the back of my mind that something might go horribly wrong at some point in the game…i’ve twisted my ankle four times since i started wearing them (i’ve worn them about ten times now), and when you have a shoe that is built for aggressive, incisive play, it is worrying to think that your foot might roll when you make a quick cut or make an abrupt change of direction…granted, i have yet to sprain my ankle in them, and each time i have been able to play on without any serious problems (i’m not sure if this has to do with the shoe, the strength of my ankles or a combination of both), but i am a bit more wary about lacing them on now than i was in the beginning.

if these are really as stable as you say, then they are a no-brainer for me. i agree that they are pretty damned ugly, though…

    1. Ankle rolls occur when your shoes are too big, not tied up properly and a combination of poor foot work and weak ankles. To strengthen ankles you to jump on something soft. Sand, pillow or old couch seat, whatever. Any agility drills will also help like the ladder or just hopping over a 12 inch object as quickly as possible.

  6. I think these are a better shoe for the price than the Jordan XX8’s, actually maybe even a better shoe in general so I’ll most likely be picking these up sometime in the near future when they release

  7. Hmmm… Mibe ill just buy these to wear around, based on the performance review of them. But they still are pretty sick
