Packer Shoes has resurrected adidas’ Adventure Equipment line from the early-90s for a rugged collab that celebrates the re-opening of the store’s historic Teaneck location.
The original goal of adidas’ 1991 Equipment line was to be “everything that’s essential, nothing that’s not.” The footwear and apparel came with minimal color and a focus on striking designs that were out of the ordinary at the time.
However, even some hardcore fans may not remember adidas’ “Adventure Equipment” line from the mid-90s; it capitalized on the outdoor trail trend of the time with rugged footwear silhouettes that used more colors and materials — and could get dirty.
To celebrate, Packer has grabbed the adidas EQT Cushion 91 from adidas’ archives and given it a colorful new look that honors the EQT Adventure palettes the brand once used. The shoe is constructed from premium suedes and leathers and accented with heavy duty mesh and synthetics.
The Packer x adidas EQT Cushion 91 will retail for $155 and it is limited to just 250 pairs worldwide. The shoe will be available exclusively at Packer on September 21 for the Teaneck location’s re-opening. An online release will follow on September 22 at 12 PM noon ET at PackerShoes.com.
