The Nike Air Zoom Talaria ‘Safari’ is Available Now

Nike Air Zoom Talaria

Loads of longtime Nike runner fans were delighted by news the the Air Zoom Talaria would be returning this year. After all, it has been a long time since 1997. That was the year that this model debuted as a cult classic and now this year marks the first retro release of the Talaria.

The most popular colorway of the model is undoubtedly the Volt shade showcased in promo photos earlier this year. Now, we have gotten a glimpse of the Talaria with an added twist. Nike has blended the model with another popular Tinker Hatfield creation, the Nike Air Safari.

The “Safari” makeup of the Talaria makes use of the original combo of white and black Safari speckle print and contrasting Clay Orange. The orange is rendered in mesh and the black sections of the upper make use of leather. The material choices help the colors pop on this silhouette. Black laces compliment a black tongue with orange Zoom Air branding. On the heel, Talaria branding is in orange text on a grey background.

Mesh on the toebox should help with ventilation, for those of you that are concerned about that (I can recognize that these old runners can sometimes build up heat pretty quickly). All in all pretty good execution of this theme here.

The visible Zoom Air on the outsole maintains the classic gradient fade pattern found on the original. Black and grey keep things relatively subdued on the midsole while all those patterns and colors interact on the upper.

A Stateside release has not been announced. But, as always, some sizes have popped up on eBay (from a reputable seller that the WearTesters staff has purchased from) if you can’t wait for the eventual release.
