New Balance is rolling out the new 880v4 in style by…well rolling out fifty mini red carpets! In an effort to get more sales in actual shops, as opposed to online retailers, New Balance will be limiting the 880v4 to certain shops like Marathon Sports in Boston, Runner’s Edge in Farmingdale, NY, and Fit Right Northwesrt in Portland, OR. The fifty shops lucky to receive this red carpet treatment this Thursday will be treated to a video experience that will include a live Q&A session with two New Balance executives on the new selling points of the 880v4.
Tom Taylor, run specialty channel support lead at New Balance had this to say: “We have not done anything like this in the past, and we’re trying to offer better content from the product team…more direct and accurate content about this specific model.” He added that most of the fifty retailer have flatscreens and Internet to stream the live video event. Photographers, props, and parties will accompany the in-store events.
