Li-Ning Way of Wade 5 White/Volt | Official Look and Release Date

After much anticipation, the Li-Ning Way of Wade 5 finally has an official U.S. release date.

The first colorway to launch is this White/Volt version of the shoe. You’ll be happy to know that the retail price — the only thing wrong with the WoW 4 — has been reduced to $160. It will be made available online at WayofWade.com beginning Saturday, October 8.

I was able to check out a pair while at SneakerCon ATL. The WoW 5 is very lightweight, and the pair I was checking out was huge. Materials were very nice as well — soft textile mesh with this fuse overlays.

The upper construction represents the WoW5 “Mesh Version” which is a unique layering of textiles and reflective materials to create a seamlessly modern new textile material package. An external upper pattern straps and heel counter are reinforced strong from the backside and made of highly-reflective materials. Additionally, an internal bootie and tongue feature an updated comfort-focused construction as well, and this colorway also features a special triangle graphic printed collar lining.

The sole mixes a semi-clear volt rubbers in the forefoot with solid gray in the heel, and is supported with an internal carbon fiber mid foot shank which uses a special silver colorway weave on this colorway. The sole intuitively cradles the upper using a newly designed dual-durometer TPU clip system, maximizing ideal lateral support & heel stability on-court.
