A First Look at a Possible adidas CrazyLight Boost 2018

adidas crazylight boost 2018

We’ve missed the CrazyLight Boost series in the States, but it looks like adidas has a new one coming: the CrazyLight Boost 2018.

While only one image of the sneaker has surfaced so far, it gives us an idea of what the CrazyLight Boost 2018 may look like.

And it doesn’t look much different than past iterations of the sneaker. It sits atop tooling that is nearly identical to what adidas is using on the Rose 8, but that’s understandable because the set up works (#BoostIsLife).

The minimalist upper appears to be a jacquard that is reinforced with fuse. The shoe uses three lace loops and one traditional eyelet at the throat.

According to leaker @kis24hr, the adidas CrazyLight Boost 2018 could arrive in July of 2018.

Until then, let us know if you’ve missed the CrazyLight Boost in the comments below.

  1. Super excited! Heel slippage was the only thing that prevented the CLB 2016 from being a perfect shoe for me. It looks like the heel area has been changed, hopefully for the better. I’m hoping these will be the successor to the crazy explosive low 2016.

    1. Reggie A, I agree heel slippage was a deal breaker with a lot of people. If you can grab a pair of the PrimeKnit version, I did and had no heel slippage do to the PrimeKnit version being a one piece upper.

    2. Isnt the successor to the Crazy Explosive Low 2016 the Crazy Explosive Low 2017? The Crazy Explosive and CrazyLight Boost 2016 are TWO different types of boost-cushioned shoe in my experience. Crazylight Boost 2016 was firm, responsive in the forefoot with some soft bounce in the heel while the Crazy Explosive was more boost-like full-length. Crazylight Boost 2015 had a better plush-feeling boost although only in the heel.

  2. If they address the heal slip then this would be an improvement. This shoe ain’t for me, though. It was too damn narrow. I tried to make it work, even modded it a little bit, but nothing made it fit. Not an option for wide footers.

  3. Ironically I didn’t have an issue with heel slippage in the 2016. Ugly, but ridiculously comfortable. I just didn’t like the perceived weight of the shoe.

This one gives you an option to lace a bit more back. Looks more basic, but also cleaner than before. Won’t count it out as a contender for best low of the year.

    1. Yep Im assuming it was the full-length boost that weighed it “up” Plus encapsulating the forefoot boost with rubber probably didnt help. Other than that I bet the upper is probably Crazylight.

  4. I’m hopeful this is a perfection of the previous model. it took 2 years so it better be good. it essentially looks like the same shoe w/ slight tweaks/different materials. this could be a good thing bc they took what was good before and simply make improvements where needed, rather than starting from scratch like most new versions seem to do
