Another Look at the adidas Harden Vol. 2

adidas harden vol. 2 red 3

With the 2017-18 NBA season well underway, the adidas Harden Vol. 2 is on the horizon.

While aesthetically very different from the Harden Vol. 1, the Vol. 2 retains several design elements from the first iteration like the traction pattern and Boost midsole.

However, the Harden Vol. 2 also borrows tech from other adidas lines; the customizable lacing setup was first used on the Dame 3 while the caged Boost was perfected in the Crazy Explosive line.

There is still no word on when the adidas Harden Vol. 2 will drop or what it will cost but that information should be coming soon. For a look at a couple upcoming colorways of this sneaker click here.

Do you have high hopes for the Vol. 2 despite its aesthetic differences from the Vol. 1? Let us know.

  1. Like:
Boost looks higher so hopefully it will be softer than than 1

    Dislike:
Thus far the 1 looks better but we will see how other colorways turn out

    Not sure:
The lacing system – I get the concept but didn’t work the best on the Dame so hopefully works better here.

  2. Also not sure about the heel – Jordan’s and Kobe’s with similar setups have been kind of clunky while previous Addidas models with exposed or lightly caged boost have had great heel to toe transitions. I guess we will find out once your team dies the review!

  3. Not a fan of how they elevated the cut on these. The fact that the Harden 1s were true low tops was a big plus for me. Other than that I love the simplicity of the design. I’m sure the color and material designers at Adidas will come up with some dope colorways and stories to go with them. Can’t wait to see more!

  4. Split colorways will look better, but the Vol 1 was miles better looking of a shoe. Functionally this tackles the heel slip issue head-on, but I’m also uncertain of the heel. There’s some hope is that’s just soft rubber, and the actual TPU heel counter is internal.

    1. You’ve had heel slip issues in the harden vol. 1? Are you tralking about when you’re not playing in them and just wearing them casually? I’ve had zero issues with heel slip or fit in general, other than slightly breaking in the toe box overlay.

      1. Tied tight enough that I was compromising the lace holes. This was with the Imma Be A Star debut model. I already went down half a size as well.

I’ve read claims that, that particular colorway was wildly inconsistent in sizing. I felt like I could’ve gone down a bit more myself, but was never going to bother unless I could get a pair at stupid-cheap tent sale prices.

  5. “Let’s combine all three of our signature models from last year and give it to Harden.”–Adidas’ design team
