adidas d Rose Dominate 2016

First revealed back in February (here), adidas continues the Team Rose series with the Dominate 2016.

adidas Philipines has three colorways — check the camo — for sale now for PH5695 ($121 USD conversion), and while the Dominate series has been an overseas shoe, there is still a (slim) hope that the shoe could see a U.S. release. The 2016 version utilizes a semi-Puremotion forefoot with Bounce cushioning in the midsole with a full-length inner bootie. One very interesting aspect of the shoe is the lace loops: hiking boot D-Rings don’t usually form the best lockdown, but the Three Stripes designers usually know more than most. Looking at the toe construction, it is obvious this shoe is built to last and should take a beating, along with the triangle mesh upper looking super-supportive.

So far, no U.S. release date has been mentioned, but with the way adidas basketball looks next year (have you SEEN the Explosive/CLBoost 16/Rose 7???) it wouldn’t be a surprise to see a summertime drop. If not, find a friend in the Philippines and hope they are feeling generous with the effort. If you do happen to find that friend, let us know how the shoe plays, and if we find one first, we will return the favor.

If you do happen to be in the Philippines, the Dominate 2016 can be purchased here.

  1. Like you said Duke, the laces don’t give you a good lock-down. Also the boot like tongue is really thin and the laces dig into your feet. And the heel lockdown is not good at all, it seems like they gave you a D Rose 6 strap lacing on the last lace loop but it is sown into the shoe and no matter how tight you tie your shoes it does not push your foot back. To wrap up, comfortable for a lifestyle wear, but dangerous for play. It has worse lock-down than the Lebron XIII low.

    1. But the traction in that sole is really.. really good, and with this shoe being a budget model, i think that you can wait for these to make it on sale (just like 773 now) and you can have some cheap pairs with really good outdoor traction

  2. There is a red/black colorway which has a quilted textile upper. They look nice and might feel nice.

  3. Dope shoes!

I just saw a new low cut D Rose model with a full lenght boost. It is the D Rose Englewood Boost. If you got some informations about them, it will be nice.

    1. Exact cushioning and sole tooling as the 773 and Light em Up..Come on adidas don’t make bounce look like a cheap ugly duckling.

  4. traction same with the 773..quite disappointing for me..since i wanted to try bounce with a traction that can last outdoor..these traction is very very thin and quite pliable.

    1. Agreed. The traction pattern on the 773 before this traction pattern was thick and very outdoor friendly. I have no idea why brands come out with something that truly works and then switch it up for the sake of switching it. It makes no sense. It’s like Nike with the Kobe series. The 9 was just the most clean court gripping traction pattern/rubber compound. I don’t know why they went away from it. Of course it was indoor only but the point still remains. Sometimes, just stick to what works. No one cares about a story telling traction. It’s UNDER THE SHOE.

  5. Ooh I was wondering why nobody was reviewing these. They been sitting here for months now, but was never sure about trying them out since I could get a curry 2 for the price.
