With an under the radar release, the adidas Crazy BYW 2.0 is now available. It’s been over two years since the Crazy BYW X released. In case you don’t remember (which you probably don’t since it was two years ago ?), the adidas Crazy BYW X was a very good performer but the traction needed work. We’ve known about and been waiting for the Crazy BYW X 2.0 since mid-2019. And weirdly, adidas recently dropped the “X” from the name. But it’s finally here, in hand, and in video. Can the sequel match the performance of the original?
Details and press around the Crazy BYW 2.0 were limited. If not for the Pharrell collab, the BYW 2.0 would not have appeared on anyone’s radar. It’s one of those shoes that sneaker blogs pretty much declined to cover thus leaving us with a lack of information on both the shoe’s tech and release date.
Luckily, our tester Jalique kept his ears to the ground and grabbed them when they dropped. In the video, he gives his first impressions on fit, materials, traction, support, and all that Boost cushioning. He also dives into tech specs and predicts how they’ll play once he gets on a court again.
A performance review should be coming once lockdowns across the country come to an end. Be patient, with courts closed, the shoes we want to review are piling up. We might have to pick and choose what to review once life returns to normal (or close to it).
The adidas Crazy BYW 2.0 is available now at adidas and Eastbay for $160 but it’s not excluded from discounts. Be sure to check out our Deal pages for up-to-date deals across sneaker brands and retailers.
