The adidas Continental 80 is Back After 40 Years

adidas Originals is bringing back a one-to-one replica of one of its lesser known models, the adidas Continental 80.

Originally released in the late 1980s, this reproduction of the latest installment in the Yung series features soft premium leather with perforations at the toebox and sides for some ventilation (and classic styling). Additionally, there is a two-tone stripe running on both the medial and lateral side of the sneaker for some pop.

The Continental 80 rides atop a rubber double cupsole and an EVA midsole for that distinctly ’80s feel on the cushioning, whether it be for casual use or performance use. In that same vein, this shoe is definitely pegged for casual use so don’t expect them to perform like world beaters in any performance capacity.

Interestingly, while the adidas Originals Continental 80 is set to drop in three colorways, ‘Black/Scarlet/Navy’, ‘White/Scarlet/Navy’ and ‘White/Off-White/Scarlet’. While adidas’ official announcement says the Continental 80 is slated to release on June 21 for $80Eastbay’s calendar has them releasing on June 20 (as of the writing of this piece).

What are your thoughts on the adidas Originals Continental 80 coming back? Is the Reebok Workout the better buy? Sound off in the comments section below.

    1. That it does, but then again, a lot of Yeezy models take design cues from other adidas models.

  1. I kinda like the classic style on these, may pick these up if they ever go on sale. Happy Adidas decided to release a shoe without boost 🙂 LOL

    1. I agree that there’s a certain allure to them, but for $80, that’s a pretty solid deal.

  2. Cream ones are really beautiful actually, but the model wearing them with joggers….way to ruin them
