A Brief Preview of the Nike AlphaDunk

The rumored Nike AlphaDunk looks to be arriving very soon.

Previously, there were rumors of a replacement for Nike’s Hyperdunk series dubbed the Nike AlphaDunk. While a discontinued Hyperdunk line has yet to be confirmed, the AlphaDunk looks to be a real thing.

Our previous report showcased two new tech features on the upcoming AlphaDunk, the first being a full forefoot Zoom Air unit, similar to the Jordan Supreme Elevation, along with AirKnit. Both of those items look to be prominently featured in the shoe pictured below, but marketing names for the tech has yet to be unveiled.

Feel free to share your thoughts on the upcoming Nike AlphaDunk and stay tuned for official information soon.

  1. On one hand, visible zoom is nike’s best cushion for ball and the forefoot is the best place to have it; for the heel cushlon or a soft phylon is good enough for me. On the other hand, im sure the forefoot isnt very flexible, so quickness and court feel are going to be downgraded. Perhaps a flexible split in the zoom like the kd9-10 or the lebron 15-16 wouldve been nice, but a shoe with this nice of a forefoot cushion will still have my attention.

  2. I think the exposed zoom could have performed better on the iterior side instead of the exterior side of the shoe but we’ll see. Usually I prefer the bounceness on the ball of my feet and something firm on the exterior side, like in Kobe 6, but I could be wrong, I don’t know.

  3. If Zion signs with Nike, these will be his shoe until he gets a signature of his own. Kinda like Kyrie wearing the Zoom Rev.
