The Nike Air Penny 5 Home is a new, super fresh colorway of a model originally released in October 2012. It technically qualifies as a retro. While the Nike Air Penny 5 is a really awesome shoe, it’s not really a true performance model. It looks the part but falls short in a couple of key areas.
What’s in the video?
In the video, Chris provides detailed information from all the usual categories, providing the in depth information you need. He supplies expert level opinions on the materials, cushioning, traction, support, and fit. Here’s some of what he discusses:
- Released as a Nike Sportswear model
- Crazy good traction
- How to tell Nike Sportswear and performance models apart
- How the tooling reminds Chris of the Jordan 11
- Nike’s incorrect product description
- Heel Air Max unit
- Forefoot foam only (?!)
- Synthetic leather and fuse upper
- Internal neoprene bootie
- Pinstripes!
- Runs true to size, but fairly narrow
- Is the Penny 5 worth the price?
And as an added bonus, we get a nice discussion of how Nike’s Penny Hardaway line has maintained a continuous design language throughout its run.
