They had me at 10mm forefoot Zoom

KD’s 5th signature didn’t just get a makeover; it was completely redesigned and upgraded.

Take a look at the images below and share your thoughts – possibly some excitement – as the KD V will make its official launch on November 6th on NIKEiD. If you wanted to grab the colorway shown or the ‘Away’ model then you will have to wait for the KD V to make its official retail debute on December 8th with a rumored price range of $110-115.

Designed with premium materials and leading Nike performance technologies, the KD V represents the evolution of Kevin Durant and his style of play.

Leo Chang, Nike Basketball Footwear Design Director, took Durant’s fifth signature shoe to new dimensions by combining inspirational cues drawn from Durant’s personal journey with symbolism from the number five – wrapped up in a premium performance package.

“Championship drive takes an entire team, and the new KD V represents the roadmap I follow,” said Kevin Durant, 3-time scoring champion. “Leo did a great job on the shoe by combining the best technology with my journey and what the number five means to me.”

With a refined design aesthetic matching Durant’s smooth and fluid style of play, the KD V integrates four leading technologies: 1) a Nike Zoom unit in the forefoot, 2) Nike Air unit in the heel 3) unibody Hyperfuse upper construction for superior fit 4) external heel counter to allow the foot to move while still providing support.

The shoe’s hidden story comes from five players united on the court, five sides of a pentagon – a Washington D.C. landmark, five corners of a star, and Durant’s fifth Nike signature shoe. This tribute to five is brought to life on the shoe’s outsole pattern, midsole texture, tongue quilting with V’s, and heel counter details.

The Maryland state flag inspires the color combination on the shoe’s Bright Crimson colorway – with the flag’s red, yellow and black remixed in bright and light tones – a fitting tribute to Durant’s home state.

These may just be my 1st KDs. People saying that this is a downgrade are outta their minds.

Looks very similar to the hyperize/hyperdunks and doesn’t appear to have much ventilation.

I’m loving the colorway and hope these turn out to be performance beasts. May cop a pair.

outsole looks sketchy to me. these have very little lifestyle appeal, here’s to hoping that they actually perform great

They messed up on that external heel counter (somebody forgot to finish that properly…), but overall it’s a very smooth looking shoe. (People really should not have a problem with the price increase.)

The silhouette looks like too many other kicks. The Nike Hyperdunks, Lebron 10, and that UA spine BB. It’ll probably be a good performer with that traction

Man if you are right about the price, these will be a steal.

That 10mm forefoot zoom had me too. I really like the design, performance features, colorways and pricing. If these perform (and I hope they do) I will buy multiple pairs for basketball. I think Nike really nailed this one.
