NBA Talk: Did LeBron Flop?

Did LeBron James flop on Draymond Green’s flagrant foul?

Last night the Golden State Warriors blew out the Cleveland Cavaliers in their final regular season matchup. The game had its moments but the Draymond/LeBron incident was one of the more exciting moments in the game and we break it all down here on the latest episode of NBA Talk.

  1. Yup, he did. I think Draymond is a dirty player, but this was a common foul. Lebron played it up and Green’s reputation lead to the flagrant call.

  2. Hard fould but saw it coming and flailed super hard. It was definitely hard foul though. Draymond’s rep will get him into more trouble down the line too if he doesnt chill. I’m a lebron fan from when he was in MIA with the Heat but he is too big to be doing all that. That’s the kind of flailing and collapse that can actually injure you in the process.

    1. Yeah man. He definitely is one of the most durable players but it would suck to get a real injury by going overboard. To swing your hands is one thing but to fold up and collapse in an awkward way could really be problematic without you meaning for anything serious to happen. He definitely took a hit though.

  3. Draymond had no business doing that, just like all his nut shots he claims are just because of natural reflex (and that’s a hilarious excuse). Add the shameless attempt to screw up the dunk in Game 7 and his immature plea to make out a “rivalry” (well technically each to their own), the only reason anyone’s giving Draymond any credit is because of the pathetic bandwagon popularity contest that goes on with fans against LeBron.

Put Draymond on the Cavs, and the same people blindly riding his jock would hate him. Put him on any other team, and he’d likely be labeled a dirty tryhard. Good luck getting those triple doubles without 2 or 3 of the best shooters in the league.

LeBron probably was the difference in the level of the call, and really if he just stood his ground Draymond would’ve possibly been called for a tech anyway; but usually LeBron seemingly doesn’t want to create some image as some violent, physical aggressor. In some ways he took the high, strategic road. You can’t even deny that was a hard fall (as well as foul) regardless if there was an intent to sell behind it. Draymond is a dirty player. In the long run it’s just smart to make that image clear if he’s your opponent.

This isn’t like CP3 literally waving his arms on an open layup to somehow get a call, or Bosh acting like he got sniper’d in the post.

  4. I really don’t like Draymond Green. I used to have teammate like him, always letting their emotions get the better of them and lashing out at the nearest target. That kind of player is straight up dangerous and could cause a major injury. That being said this was not a flagrant foul and LeBron definitely flopped. We’ve all seen LeBron deflect people to the side when he goes full freight train down the paint and I don’t think there’s a player in the league that can cause him to fall naturally the way he did. But he’s a smart player, I’ll bet he saw Draymond and made up his mind to flop in the hopes that Draymond’s reputation would draw the flagrant. In this case it did.

  5. To those who really play ball…Full sprint then, closed line will really knock you down. Just because Lebron is a freak of nature does not mean that he is no human. He feels the same force.

Stop being hypocrites, its a flagrant foul. It was meant to harm.

    1. To those that know basic mechanical physics… 249 lbs object moving fast in a straight line colliding with 229 lbs object moving slower against first object at 90>angle>45. Yeah, the heavier object TOTALLY flops backwards like a rag doll while secondary object remains upright and continues on its path with minor deviation… To quote our very own NW, “yeah, that’s sarcasm.”

On an unrelated note, GO BUCKS! FEAR THE DEER! ???

      1. I like your data, physics teacher. But can you really compute that? Your genius is on another level.

I bet you only play 2k16 and not actually ball.

By the way, I think your lost. The topic is not about the bucks

  6. Lebron is the type of guy to sue Starbucks for serving him coffee that’s too hot and causing him to burn his tongue.

  7. The duel Lebron won against Green last year in the finals led the Cavs to win with Green on the bench so yea it s a flop and a good one (even tho I dont really like Lebron)

  8. I don’t like Draymon all that much because of some of his past dirty play, but this was a common foul. And it was a very hard flop by LeBron. I could see him flailing his arms a bit after receiving contact, but the fall to the ground almost as if he had gotten injured was comedically bad. And if you had really looked at the replays you could see that he was looking in Draymon’s direction, so he knew the contract was coming.

  9. It isn’ a “clean flop” because LeBron got fouled. Obviously LeBron highly overdid the foul and he knew Draymond was coming (not only his eyes, but look how he braces before contact and where he raises his arm and where he positions his forearm and tell me if he would have braced like that for a contact with KD or with Steph Curry).

  10. Flopppppppp!!!!!!

    And

    FLOP!

LBJ should get an Oscar for that!

Green is a hustle and talented player and he deserves respect!!

  11. I dont know that there even is a bandwagon of anti lebron fans. I was anti lebron til cavs warriors and he was on his own. Even anti lebron, you still got to respect the guy
