adidas D Lillard 3 Spotted on Overseas Shelves

Did the adidas D Lillard 3 appear on store shelves overseas way ahead of schedule?

We’re unsure if this is an authentic pair or not, but we’re hearing that this is what the D Lillard 3 will look like. Tech specs haven’t been unveiled, but we were told Bounce would return in terms of cushion. Everything else is TBD. All we can tell from the visual is that there are multiple ways to lace your shoe, which means that no matter what your foot shape is there should be no lack of heel containment.

Take a look at what could potentially be the adidas D Lillard 3, and share your thoughts with us below in the comment section.

  1. I feel like Dame would want something you could wear casually too..these are pretty ugly but probably play really well

  2. The CE low is seen beside it,

The D Lillard 2 looks soooo much better than this,

Did Lillard really have a say on these?

And what shoe is the one at the bottom right beside it?

    1. I guess we might see a “KD 7” situation here. Dame would continue with the Lillard 2.0s instead of these.

    2. Lillard was able to survive with the Lillard1 which had terrible heel lockdown. If he was able to do that, he can with anything

  3. Ummm. Colorways can make a HUGE difference but these are pretty horrible looking. The angular parts really clash with the rest of the shoe IMO. I said the same thing about the Rose 7 so hopefully this isn’t the final version and it will grow on me.

Adidas has absolutely been killing things with performance but I wish they focused a little more on the aesthetics. The Crazy Explosive and Rose 7 are hard to pull off wearing casually. I wear them casually…. But its hard.

  4. There’s pics of a white/red colorway and although they will most likely perform well. Compared to the Lillard 2, these look so freaking ugly in my opinion. Damn smh

  5. Adidas…you were on the right track and then the Ball 365 and this? They don’t look attractive at all and don’t look like a signature. I really hope that this isn’t it.

  6. Yeah, I agree that they do look awful, but it looks like you can thread your laces all the way back to the very last lace loop. That will make for some serious heel lockdown.

  7. They dont look that bad, but why is the cage so angular on the sleak silhouette and what is that slab cutting through the bounce? Is that suppose to help with the instep? Those two things make the shoe look choppy. They even look off on the all black pair. Maybe these will grow on me once I see them on foot but right now they look uncomfortable. Still look better than the CP3 and last year’s Melo

  8. Weartesters, I think you guys wrongly assumed the pics are from overseas ‘store shelves’. Assuming the pics are legit, methinks that they’re from an Adidas showroom or their manufacturer’s showroom.

Anyhow, not feeling them at all based on those pics. That Red Crazy Explosive Low otoh…

    1. For sure they know where these are from. They have legit sources from adidas and if they posted them here, most likely weartesters got the go signal fr adidas. Thats why this is one of the sites I trust

  9. Very interested how the locking fitting system is going to work. There is just much space between ankle and front tongue. Unless the front tongue is just for looks and will have no performance aspects.. And man why NA get no Ball365 love. Really wanted to low or mid. Overseas even got the Black/Teal/Purple CW for the CLB16 that I was definitely waiting to cop for NA.

  10. I think these are from the same event where the Explosive low picks came from, not a store. As for the aesthetics- I’m a performance dude, I’ll play in any ugly shoe as long as it works for me, but I have to say the right angled plastic piece ruins it. Without that, it would look nice and sleek, kind of ultraboost-esque. But that thing kills whatever design flow the rest of the shoe was attempting. I bet it’ll look fine if you uncage it, but then the performance would suffer.

But whatever, if these kill it on court I’d like to pick em up. But from a shallow aesthetic viewpoint, adidas just guaranteed these won’t sell gangbusters because of that right-angled thingy.

  11. If this is the D Lillard 3 I will be a bit disappointed. They look horrible imo and I don’t think a good color way could do it much justice. This is my most anticipated shoe of the year, the DL2 was beautiful and performed so well, hopefully performance is good, but with these looking so bad I imagine there are gonna be better options for the price.

  12. I don’t see a Dillard logo so hope I belive this could just be the lower budget model of his if they did that for the 2s street name I think they called it or it could be just a new model need more pictures to be sure but the crazy explosive lows are fire and I would be picking up a pair can’t wait for the review for does

  13. Just like the Curry 3 I really don’t like the mix of Squared-Angles, with Organic-Angles. Plus the leaner-look worries me, I loved the Lillard 1, and 2 because they had enough body, enought structure for a bigger players, these seem a lot less robust.

  14. probably the main reason these were just released overseas. I agree with the general opinion of others, these are really TURRIBLE !

  15. In this game of constant regurgitation, you have to respect new design. I agree that colorways will make or break this silhouette. (A monotone look could really downplay that harsh corner 90 degree thing) I personally love the look of what appears to be a running building blocks modified for basketball use.

  16. Let’s be honest…performance is the priority but looks play a part in the dollar amount that I’m willing to spend on the model too. I believe that the reason for a lot of the disappointment felt by others including myself is the direction that we saw things going. Things were steadily getting more attractive/impressive and these feel like an initial step back. It is what it is. They may be the best performers in the Lillard line but they just look odd. That piece on the outside with all of those holes is unnecessary. No one will put their laces all over that thing. The hassle alone to get it right wouldn’t even make it worth it.

  17. Not excited about the looks of these so far. Shoe looks too blocky. Waiting for more information and different colorblocking…

  18. Not sure why so much hate. I appreciate that they are trying to do something unique. I’ll wait for higher res picks, different angles, and different colorways before judging the aesthetics. These don’t look bad to me, not great, but Im interested.

  19. People here might have seen the BB Rare Metal review before seeing these. When you see something beautiful first, the standards get higher, thus magnifying the “uniqueness” of the DL3s.

Anyways, the longer we see these, and with better colorways, we will get accustomed to the looks and it wouldnt be as ugly as we initially thought, just as how we see shoes before. Thats why brands like nike release “leak” pictures of new models to be released.

    1. I kind of agree with that and I know that everyone’s tastes are different but brands have an idea what will sell and what ppl will find appealing. What BB has been doing has been appealing and performs well. Some Adidas models have had that as well. When something like this makes the cut, it makes you wonder. I hope there’s still time for tweaks and that they didn’t wait until the last second to show these before mass production. They have hope but that lacing system needs HELP.

  20. I really like the home colorway that was leaked, with the red black and off white upper.
Plus, the shoe reminds me of a NIKE AIR PRESTO.
Not in sillhouette really but the the construction of the shoe. Minimal sock/knit upper.
With tpu caging for support and lacing.
Also looks like the foot will sit slightly in the midsole. Cant wait to try them on! Super huge Dame Dolla fan and supporter.

  21. I actually like these because there different. Its design kind of reminds of a ship. I’m guessing it’s very functional. I’ll wait for the performance review before grabbing a pair.
