Before the Nike Kobe 11 gets an official Lakers colorway, the Nike KB Mentality 2 beats them to it.
Purple and Gold are boldly represented on the Mentality 2, along with a bit of Black. This version of the shoe reminds me of the launch colorway of the Nike Zoom Kobe 5. Back when a players team colors were more important than energy launch colors.
The images are from Nike Store, but they have yet to be made available Stateside as they’re currently available overseas. Stay tuned as we’ll update you as soon as we see them available.

Hey NW, have you been able to take a look at this in hand yet?
I’m curious how the upper compares to the KD8.
Upper is flyweave but its unlike the KD8. It has fuse backing. Has a more Kobe 9 elite low feel (glue backed) than a Kobe 8 EM feel (fuse backed).

I’m glad that Nike released a true, no nonsense, Lakers color way for a Kobe(mentality)…I know the 10’s have had purple/black purple/gold 9’s as well…but this feels like a straight up Lakers color way. Something I feel like I haven’t seen much of in a long time.
Doing a performance review would be a waste of time — the exact same outsole and Lunarlon drop in midsole guarantee it’s going to be the exact same as the Mentality 1.
Wait a minute, what’s the real design of the Kobe logo, matte yellow? or reflective (as in the last two pics)?

I actually got to see this in person, and the Kobe logo is yellow AND reflective at a certain angle! cool! I didn’t purchase it though… didn’t fit my wide-ish feet well even after going one size up. It folds awkwardly at the toe area because it’s too long. The thing on the heel dug into my left achilles as well even after wearing it for just 5 minutes.
I ended up buying the Jordan CP3.9 “Clippers Blue”, much more comfy!
