The Nike Air Darwin is Making a 2018 Return

Another Nike Basketball classic is coming back from the archives: the Air Darwin.

Nike’s Air Darwin is a model we never thought we’d see again.

Once worn by Dennis Rodman during the 1993-94 era, the Air Darwin was the predecessor to what we’d come to know as the Air Shake N’Destrukt. Still featuring its PU midsole, rugged outsole built to withstand outdoor basketball, and a visible Air Sole unit in the heel, the Air Darwin will be a nice blast from the past in 2018.

We did see the Air Darwin name and its likeness return in 2012 when Nike was taking classic models worn by Rodman and attaching its then-new Nike Air Max 360 tooling to the upper. The Nike Air Max Darwin 360 wasn’t well received by fans that had been wanting a real reissue of the original model, but now they have the opportunity to re-live their ’90s past with this year’s retro.

Currently, there is no official price or release date known, but judging by these official products shots of the shoe in three colorways the Air Darwin should be coming soon. The current rumor is that we should see the shoe in October 2018.

Let us know if you’re excited for the return of the Nike Air Darwin or if you feel its too little too late.
