Performance Teaser: Air Jordan XV Retro

If you are wondering where the First Impression went… it never went up. Not because I didn’t want to post one but because I didn’t plan on playing in these and decided last second to throw them in my bag… living life on the edge…

Traction is surprisingly good. The rubber is pliable and the areas that feature no traction at all has a slight rough texture to it so it grips the floor… plus I’ve noticed that the flat surfaces tend to push away dust and debris before it can clog you herringbone up.

Cushion is really comfortable. Heel and forefoot Zoom Air are in place and they feel great… they actually feel like the original from what I remember so that was a pretty big plus in my book.

If I could compare these to a modern day shoe it would have to be a LeBron. Not any LeBron in particular… they just sort of feel like I’m playing in a LeBron shoe. They’re kind of bulky, not too flexible, really cushioned and comfortable… sort of like a LeBron. It’s funny… people would (and still do) compare LeBron’s game to MJ’s and here we are comparing MJ’s shoes to LeBron’s… I mean it’s not laugh out loud funny but to a performance nerd like me it is.

  1. I was never a big fan of these. I didn’t like the fact they took away the carbon shank plate from the 11’s and 12’s. these used to make my arches very very sore.

  2. These shoes hurt my arches something awful back in the day….I guess every foot is different though.

  3. Had the blue ones – spent fortune on them in Nike Town in London. In fairness they were not the best ones I have had and the upper felt a bit strange (shape of the upper versus shape of your foot) – not the best AJ pair to come out

  4. correct me if im wrong, but i remember these are the first non-air jordans.. only had foam cushioning..no zoom or air at all..
