Nike Signs Bulls Rookie Laurie Markannen

Nike has officially signed Lauri Markannen of the Chicago Bulls to a multiyear deal.

The seven-footer from Finland will join Markelle Fultz, De’Aaron Fox, Jayson Tatum, Malik Monk, Bam Adebayo, Harry Giles, and Jonathan Isaac as the new wave of rookies to be the “next generation of Nike Basketball.”

During his time in Arizona, a Nike Basketball school, Markannen was primarily seen wearing the LeBron Soldier 10s and the KD 9s but he will most likely be sporting Nike’s React Hyperdunks for this upcoming season.

Markannen is a promising prospect but he doesn’t have a whole lot of star power so we don’t see a signature model in his future. However, we’d like to know which Nike Basketball rookie you think has signature model potential in the comments section below or on social media with the #WearTesters.

  1. Given the game’s evolution that gives premium to a more speedy and uptempo pace that highlights the skills of guards/wingmen, then I also don’t see him getting a signature in the near future. Perhaps a player exclusive, should he dominate in his first few seasons in the League.
