Most of us already know whats up with this year’s Nike Elite Series and lets just say that most haven’t been fooled this time around. However, that doesn’t mean they aren’t performance shoes.

  1. I dropped my comment on YouTube, but you guys are never short on the comedy. I forgot to give props on the clap change too.

  2. Last year’s elite did bring some performance upgrades (e.g. better cushioning in the Kobe and LeBron) but this year’s…just striaght out money making scheme…

  3. Great video. The intro is hilarious.

So disappointed to hear that the Elite updates bring nothing significant to the performance of the shoes – they just up the price. I had such high hopes for the KD Elites with the “improved” cushioning setup while lowering the height and weight of the shoe. I also read a few places that the Lebron Elite was supposed to have a slightly thinner and lighter zoom bag which could help with transition and court feel. Sounds like from this review the cushioning is essentially unchanged.

I will save my money for other basketball shoes and maybe pick up some Elites if they hit the outlets with steep price cuts…

  4. The Elites price hike is exactly like the “collective edition” video game… They serve more as a gauge to see just how much you will spend on a item. If enough people make the jump (i.e retro jordans) than the new price will become the price for the regulars in due time.
