2014 saw the re-retro of the Nike Air Huarache runner, now 2015 could very well be the year of the remixed Huaraches (see: Nike Air Huarche Ultra) as seen with this Oregon Duck colorway.
The model has the tooling and overall look of the Air Huarache, with slight differences. The main thing that draws the eye is the sock bootie that replaces the minimalist neoprene bootie. Pull tabs are also a new addition, appearing on the tongue area and the heel. Interesting enough, the perforations have been removed on the tongue, making me believe this is more of a lifestyle shoe.
On the aesthetic end, the shoes feature swooshes on the medial and lateral sides, something that didn’t exist on the brand-less original Huarache. Elephant print appears on the toe rand and heel portion, possibly a nod to the Oregon player exclusive Air Jordan 3 ‘Pit Crew’. The Duck logo also appears on the heel in good and bad duck varieties.
As you can figure from the tongue tabs, the shoes are likely a player exclusive for the track and field team. Let us know if you’d cop though if this model released.
