Jordan Melo M12

Looks like Melo’s latest signature was leaked this morning, so let’s take a look at what they’ve got coming for his upcoming season.

Tech specs are currently unknown and these look like catalog images so they aren’t real shoes…more like renderings. The upper looks very simple and clean… I like it. You can see that there is Fuse at the toe rand so expect some sort of textile mesh or woven to be used on the upper; my guess would be performance woven like what was used on the KD 8. However, there are triple stitched seams at the rear of the shoe making me wonder if they used a backing for the upper or possibly a raw material. Lockdown lacing structure, nothing we haven’t seen before, and I’d assume Flight Speed cushion – aka unlocked Zoom Air. They have an interesting heel.

I personally don’t mind the way they look; simple and nothing too flashy. Traction looks as if it has beastly potential…from what little we see of it. Check out the renderings below and share your thoughts on the Jordan Melo M12 in comment section. Jordan Melo M12 1 Jordan Melo M12 2

  1. Hmm…does it means the AJ 30 will use very similar tooling? especially the cushioning since M10 and M11 are basically budget version of the Jordans.

  2. I like this. Jordan brand is start to evolve into car company type branding. Cost effective players can buy the Super Fly4, a little more money can get you the M12, and if you have over 200 get the Jordan 30. Should be interesting come next summer when the M12 will cost less than the superfly 4 though.

    1. the upper doesnt look woven to me. It looks like full grain nubuck, which is a smart move and differentiates itself from the superfly and jordan 30.

        1. *Shurgs* im not a shoe guru like you, but when you zoom in on performance weave each “cell” looks the same to me. Nubuck or leather “cells” look different. Kind of like if you were looking at your skin. Also just a hunch. I just can see Jordan marketing believing that using nubuck will help differentiate melo’s shoe.

        2. There are larger images of this out there, and this is the actual shoe…not a rendering. The shoe has a synthetic leather upper.

HOWEVER..It may be a kids version based off the shape..So adult could have a different material?

  3. Since the styling of the M11 was superb I guess it was pretty hard to beat it, but this isn’t even close to be honest. Hopefully the tech is up to par like the M11.

  4. M8 was awesome, skipped M9, M10 had the best traction and cushion ever, and i’m enjoying the M11. i guess we’ll see but i have high hopes for the M12

  5. I think my biggest problem with the melo line is there is no real linear forward movement. It seems like each model is a different thing to itself with no connection to the model before it. I realise the 10 and 11 both had basically the same cushioning and sort of similar tooling, but honestly they were closer to the jordan xx8 and xx9 than to each other. And so there is no confusion by relation I mean there is a clear path from say…the jordan 6 to the 8, an evolution if you will. There is no evolution to the melo line. They just throw out new shoes. Im sure im just being picky, But if you expect me to buy your gear and support you i think it should mean something.

    1. That’s understandable.
Another perspective is each shoe was design based on need, insight, or whatever inspiration
regradless of what was done in the previous model besides the 10 and 11.
At least with this line, they are known to perform, just underrated, or overlooked.

      1. I commented on the wrong blog post. My reply was meant for the Jordan Rising High, but hey, if the outsole is durable on these (I doubt it), I might get these too.
