Jordan Fly Wade – First Impression

Here is a quick rundown on my first impression on the Jordan Fly Wade.

Traction… looks to be the exact same thing that was featured on the Jordan 2011, which I did not like too much. The translucent rubber material does feel different though, a bit firmer, so it may end up grabbing the court better than the 2011.

Interior features a complete one piece inner sleeve/ boot. I like this a lot and it is very well padded throughout as well.

The heel features the cup notches to better stabilize your heel and keep it in place, again, something I really like and wish it would have been done on the 2011’s.

The insole is ortholite… sort of surprised they put that in there. I was expecting another basic insole that you find on most other Jordan releases, including their performance models. They also have the grey liner in place of the more traditional nylon which is another great feature furthering comfort.

This is my favorite part of the shoe so far. Not sure why others have complained about the toe area, but these are cut on both sides, as seen on the AJ1 and Nike Dunk, which allows better flexibility with the toe box area. If the Jordan 2011 had this there might not have been the bunching in the toe when laced tightly.

Materials are all synthetic… get used to it, this is what all brands are doing nowadays on performance models in order to ensure longer life and reduce weight.

Cushion is heel Air Max and forefoot Zoom Air. The forefoot feels great upon your first try on, the heel I couldn’t feel so it’ll probably come into play when more weight is distributed on the midsole during play.

Stay tuned for teasers throughout the performance testing as well as the full on performance review soon!

  1. great stuff man!!!! i hope it perfroms great…i wonder tho whether will it be better for the shoe if it came with a independent toe cap like the aj 2010

      1. they should incorporate that in these shoes, and stop with the clear sole and go back to herringbone…lol… great stuff man!!!

  2. They also have the grey liner in place of the more traditional nylon which is another great feature furthering comfort, thats what you wrote. whats grey liner and whats nylon???
