Has the Under Armour Curry 6 Leaked?

Under Armour’s upcoming Curry 6 for NBA superstar Stephen Curry might have leaked over the weekend.

Sneaker leaks can be frustrating for both the brand and the consumers — brands get thrown off of their marketing plans while consumers get some of the worst images of a product that can (and usually do) skew their initial impression of the product. However, it’s still fun to speculate so that’s what we’re doing here as we take a look at what’s being rumored to be the Under Armour Curry 6.

The midsole reminds me of the Hyperfuse from 2010. Some may see this as a copy while I see it as a sign that the entire midsole might be Under Armour’s HOVR cushioning system. If the shoe does feature full-length HOVR then that would be awesome for fans of Curry and his signature line who have skipped out on his shoes due to lack of cushion. It also makes me wonder if Curry will wear a modified version of the shoe that better suits his personal wants/needs as Stephen does not want cushion in his shoes. It would be amazing if Under Armour were able to give consumers and the athlete what each want out of the product it creates.

This image is horrendous, so we can’t see much when it comes to the Curry 6 build and its materials. It looks like it could be a mixture of mesh at the toe and compression material at the midfoot and collar. We can see that the brand is going low again for the cut, something I enjoy, while the build and materials should easily accommodate ankle braces for Curry and anyone else that may wear them.

That’s pretty much all we can see so my speculation ends there. I’m very curious about the traction (I hope herringbone is used!).

Share your thoughts on what could be the Under Armour Curry 6 below and stay tuned for official word on the product when the unveiling comes.

  1. It’ll be interesting to see what that lime green bungee-looking cord is on the tongue and what its purpose would be. I’m excited though, I enjoy playing in the Curry line (for the most part) and I can’t wait to get my hands on these, IF they are the Curry 6.

  2. Hoping for some speedform or other foam around the ankle and arch.
Both the 4 and 5 with their stiff mesh uppers were a pain for my high arch because there was always a bad trade-off between sizing, insoles, and lacing. I managed to get the 4s functional wearing a full size up with some chunky Dr Sholls insoles and soccer socks. I tried on the 5s after NW’s performance review and could feel the same hard spots in the arch in a mix of sizes at and over my true.

  3. I’m really interested in the lacing system. looks like it wraps around the entire heel and should help with heel containment imho.

  4. I wonder if that webbing over the foam midsole is for containment of the foam itself, so maybe yet another sign it could be all HOVR? Also the yellow piece on the lateral side of the shoe could be for additional support/containment of a softer, more forgiving HOVR. Intrigued!! I loved (LOVED) my Anatomix Spawn 2’s and the Micro G in those but haven’t seen anything from UA that’s really caught my eye since.
