Nike’s next lifestyle-only iteration of the Air Max line, the Air Max 720, is scheduled to land next year. However, that won’t stop colorway after colorway from leaking.
In an official unveiling in September, Nike announced that the Air Max 720 would feature the brand’s tallest ever Air unit at 38mm high. This is supposed to provide the wearer with more spring in each step, cradle the foot, and protect from impact if needed — and it will slot the Air Max 270’s 32mm tall unit into second place among Nike’s sneakers.
Interestingly, the new Air Max unit is comprised of 75% recycled manufacturing waste, according to Nike. This continues the brand’s effort to reduce its footprint on the environment while providing consumers with new products. Upcoming colorways will be inspired by natural phenomena like lava flows, the Northern Lights, the Milky Way, and sunrises/sunsets. There is no official word yet on what inspires this new gold colorway, but expect official information in the lead up to Air Max Day 2019.
