Zoom Air Returns on the Nike Hyperdunk 2015

Zoom Air is back.

Lunarlon was the primary cushion system used for the Hyperdunk 2012-2014 but it appears the Nike Hyperdunk 2015 will go back to Zoom Air. Specifically, the shoes will utilize full length Zoom Air. Zoom Air was last used on the Nike Hyperdunk 2011, so it’s been a while & we’re sure Zoom Air fans will be pleased. Like all of it’s predecessors, Flywire will be used once again as the strands are embedded into the Hyperfuse upper.

Aesthetically, the shoe is higher cut than past Hyperdunk renditions. The trend of the midsole and heel cup mixing into one piece continues, much like the Jordan CP3.VIII and Melo M11.

Stay tuned to WearTesters for the  official release info from Nike Basketball. As always, leave your thought in the comments on the Nike Hyperdunk 2015.

  1. They may not look like beauties, but I do appreciate the designers for switching it up for the 2015s. I’d like to see the traction pattern on them.

  2. I saw some other images of the HD2015 a couple of weeks ago and I was sold then. I like the look. I really like the look. If Nike goes back to some good herringbone traction, then you’re looking at one of the top shoes of 2015. Very nice!

  3. Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that midsole looks thick and hard hope they don’t have it encased in a hard midsole that’s something nike would do

  4. These look like space boots, in a good way. love the simple color blocking on this sample, but with that upper seems like nike could do literally anything with it. full zoom will be awesome! criminally underutilized cushion setup imo. if traction is on point, then this will be my first hyperdunk cop since 2012.

  5. do you know if this is a prototype or a finished design? if its the finished product, the design looks very simple and i think it’s a clean, clean look. i loved the hyperrev full length so i’m definitely looking forward to a review on these.

  6. Nitpick: Why does Nike keep making such tiny eyelets for these wide laces? They make the laces wear down needlessly fast.

  7. Sorry, I’ve got to do it: these remind me a whole lot of the hyperrev from 2014. Nike just took that shoe’s upper, removed the fore-strap and placed a ?fuse? shroud around the high-cut heel, where that heel window was. Not to mention the full-length zoom air. That’s probably why the hyperrev 2015, though it seems to hold its own, departs from the hyperrev 2014’s key elements. I bet these hyperdunks will perform very similarly to the hyperrev 2014, which some people obviously still want. But I’ll be honest, Nike and their upper/tooling rehashing for suspect & fluctuating pricing grinds my gears a bit. My 2-cents.

  8. Im so keen for Zoom again. Hyperdunk 2011 was the best IMO, bought the Blake Griffin PE’s only about a month ago just because they are so dam good ahaha

  9. …………………………………………….FINALLY. The Hyperdunk 2011 by far was my favorite cushioning setup of any other HD. In fact, I prefer these over my pair of Super.Fly 2’s regarding cushioning and fit.

  10. I don’t care if this shoe plays like the first hyperrev..as long as the traction is durable and long lasting that will be gold my man

  11. Really excited about full length zoom!

Give us the sideways herringbone traction from 2013 HD and this’ll be a performance beast!

  12. Hmm… another line that has been utilizing lunarlon for a few years going back to zoom cushioning eh? Kobe X did the same. I wonder why the switch back? Is Lunarlon slowly turning into a fad cushion setup? I remember back in the day there were foam setups every now and then but max air and zoom air pushed those out everytime they were challenged.

Wing, think it’s happening again? Or just Nike trying to listen to the general populace that was clamoring for zoom back in a hyperdunk?

    1. Over the All-Star weekend Nike was advertising “Zoom City”. In keeping with that theme, Nike may have added zoom to the HD2015. The HD is Nike’s most popular non sig basketball shoe. Makes sense to me. I’m looking forward to checking out the HD 2015.

  13. The upper seem to be some kind of mesh and it seem like the shoe will an one piece upper. full length zoom, man hope the ride will be nice. I just hope the traction doesn’t play like hyperrev 2014. Looking forward to this shoes since I haven’t find other brand to fit my fit

  14. I actually like the shoes looks….. And i personally like the feel of the high cut shoes. Cant wait to see some unique colourways and maybe see them on nikeid
