Under Armour Micro G Drive PE on Stephen Curry

Under Armour Micro G Drive PE on Stephen Curry

As of tonight, “Aaronknows”, a renowned shoe spotter around the NBA has confirmed that the Under Armour PE we spotted on Stephen Curry’s feet last night here, is in fact the Micro G Drive. In this slightly blurry picture provided below, we can make out the upper pattern that UA calls ‘ClutchFit’. Back in December, we showed a teaser photo of the compression upper that UA claims serves as a second skin for optimum lockdown and comfort. It is highly likely that we will see a lot more of this new shoe on Steph’s feet during the playoffs. Look out for more colorways and more info on the makeup of the shoe.

From this picture, we can infer that it will have a nearly one-piece upper of the ClutchFit material, a significant heel counter, the famed Micro G cushioning set up (check out our UA basketball reviews to hear more about its reputation), and a generally low profile midsole that seems to have a substantial outrigger at the forefoot to protect Stephen Curry’s ankles, and hopefully yours too. Let us know what you think of the new ClutchFit upper technology and if you will be keeping an eye on these until release.

  1. I hope to give these a shot, the Spawns were a game changer for UA, can these top that, only time will tell. Either way, UA has been heading in the right direction for a few years now. I’m guess that clutch whatever is their version of the techfit. The whole protecting the ankle….I’m not buying if in the picture of him taking a shot I didn’t see his ankles wrapped and with a guard on. I know everyone wraps, but just seeing that combo didn’t show the shoe in the brightest of lights for me.

    Just my two cents.

    1. I totally understand where you’re coming from with that assumption, and you’re not wrong in thinking that, but Steph Curry is known to have some of the most injury-riddled ankles in the nba, and he’s missed a lot of games in the past because of them. He wears those braces pretty much every game.

  2. It is good to hear that you are willing to give UA a shot, they truly are moving their technology forward with every new basketball shoe release.
As to his gigantic Zamsk ankle braces, those are something he has began wearing every game, as said above. He struggled with nagging ankle problems earlier in his career so often that it seemed he never played 2 games in a row. Now, whether they are required for him to stay healthy and on the court, or merely precautionary, he doesn’t leave it to chance.

    1. ^This.

I hope that these play just as well or even better than its predecessors. UA is definitely going in the right direction and that means that the more competition that’s out there, the more companies will have to step it up in all aspects of the business including making shoes more affordable and bringing quality performers.

  3. Hey Nightwing i have a question not only for you but also for everyone is everything in amazon.com authentic like their shoes is it all authentic cause I’ve been hesitating cause the prices are cheap and im not sure if it is authentic or not pls give me a quick answer and thank you.

  4. These look like they have a lower heel drop than most shoes, it should help Curry stay in a more natural stance, and also help his ankle stability. I always feel that shoes with a higher heel drop puts more pressure on you ankles since they lead you body towards the front of the shoes and puts pressure on the front lateral part of your foot, so you your ankles have to work harder to keep you rolling your foot.

  5. this is what i lilke about under armour, not too steep with the prices but delivers with their shoe performance
