The Under Armour Fire Shot is UA’s Latest Basketball Offering

Under Armour has grown quickly in the basketball category since signing Stephen Curry but they have other shoes coming that should grab your attention — and they aren’t signature models.

The upcoming Under Armour Fire Shot will introduce UA’s latest cushion system that’s been dubbed Nano G. The traction on theUnder Armour Fire Shot looks like it may pose a problem, but we’re definitely interested in trying our their newest cushion option here at WearTesters. CompFit is found along the upper along with a synthetic textile outer shell.

Take a look at three colorways that haven’t hit Stateside retailers just yet, but are available at overseas retailer Basket 4 Ballers. Be sure to share your thoughts with us as well and stay tuned for updated release information. Do you think UA has another hardwood banger with the Under Armour Fire Shot?

  1. nano G huh? I’m intrigued… haha. Has this been used before in any other athletic models?

They look solid, but agree that traction looks iffy

  2. Hi nightwing don’t you have the prototype. It would be a good idea to test the progression of the cushion and the traction to show under armour has evolved into this new product.

  3. I think this is underarmour’s attempt to challenge adidas boost as well since you and a couple of shoe reviewers are saying the adidas boost tech is now the best custom at this stage of the sneaker industry.

  4. I like the uppers(bit of an updated Juke), from what I remember the NanoG is a light-version of foam, which probably won’t work for someone heavy like me 🙁

  5. Of course weartesters was onto this tech year’s ago and described the cushion as “Adidas but softer”…wonder if its the same thing…logo is the same.

  6. These shoes and colorways have been on Academy’s website for about a month, but they called ’em “Sharpshooter”. Academy is a sporting goods chain from Texas. Haven’t gone to see if they’re in store though.

  7. Dy1323 – I have been looking at all of the academy’s in the DFW Metroplex since I saw these on the website a couple of weeks ago, & I have not been able to locate them yet. The search continues, but as soon as I do find them a performance review will be coming.

  8. Duke, after I saw them on their website I Googled ’em and obviously didn’t come up with anything due to their mislabeling the name. Immediately wondered if somebody screwed up and made ’em available for purchase before they were supposed to and no one’s noticed the glitch. Didn’t even check if they’ll actually load into the “shopping cart”.

  9. I had a chance to look at this shoe in person a few weeks ago while looking for team shoes. I would avoid it completely. It looks cool in photos, and comes in color ways that will work for a lot of Summer AAU teams, but provides no true ankle support and is very cheaply made. It wouldn’t last a month in heavy use before falling apart. May be UA’s first major recall after all the returns they will see. You can buy a Curry 2 for $20 more and get much better quality.
