Performance Teaser: Nike Air Max Hyperposite Pt. 2

One of the best big man shoes ever…

Traction is great on the Hyperposite – at least it is on the solid rubber versions. Use translucent rubber at your own risk; I don’t know how they will perform.

Even as a speedy Guard, the Hyperposite is able to keep up in nearly all aspects. The only thing I would like is for a bit more flexibility for range of motion but seeing as how these weren’t designed with a Guard in mind I can’t really complain at all. However, I still would like to formally request that Nike create a Hyperposite model built for Guards… I’d be very grateful.

Something I tend to ignore would be their value. Value is based on each person’s opinion and what value actually means to them. I know these are expensive – even at their discounted price they are priced high – but they are a top tier Nike performance shoe… you can’t expect them to be priced affordably when they initially release. Now, I will say this… even at $225 – original retail price – I find them to be a great deal as far as overall value is concerned.

Quick breakdown on why…

1. Durable
-Being made of Foamposite and Hyperfuse, two of Nike’s most durable materials, will pretty much guarantee that you will be able to wear these on and off court for a LONG time.
2. Long lasting cushion
-With a 360 degree Air unit in place, these will give you long lasting cushion for quite a while. How long exactly? That’s a question without an answer so don’t worry about it. What you are guaranteed is that IF the Air unit fails within a certain period of time… Nike will take them back and refund your money.

So, if you pay $225 and get a shoe that will last you 2 years or more… how is that not a good value?

*Disclaimer* If you wear a shoe outdoors they will wear down faster and if the Air unit is damaged because of it then they won’t be considered an error on the manufacturer. I personally don’t use exposed Air unit sneakers to hoop outdoors just because I don’t want to destroy the cushion system.

  1. Great teaser!
A fuse/foamposite shoe for guards would be sweet.
A full-length lunarlon or heel/forefoot zoom air in a mid/lowtop would be amazing.

    1. do you have nba 2k13? i tried to make one of those mash ups. hehe. a foamposite upper with lunarlon midsole and a lebron 9/8ps zoom air max outsole. tried also a shox and the kobe looking zoom outsole they had in their choices.

well all i could do is create them online and try to imagine how would they feel. my player/career seems to be doing well so i think i created the shoes fine. lol.

      1. Video game? nightwing plays real basketball, we’re talkin’ about the game, not the video game. How the hell he can review shoes while playing video game?

        1. no im not sugesting he or you if you chris are NW review a shoe in a video game. well the joke got off wrong might as well explain it.

im just saying i remember i tried mashing them up in nba 2k13. sorry i think it was kind of cool getting to see how they look like mashing them up with the choices of some recognizable nike uppers, midsoles and outsoles available in the game. sorry i just thought it was kind of cool to have your created player play in some shoes i imagine would be cool. at least visually or at least try to imagine your created player would have the most unique one and of course one can only imagine how it could really feel playing in one as it is just a video game.

          anyway its all good. peace!

  2. I’ve had these for just over 3 weeks and worn them balled in them 8 times, the fit gets better and better with each wear and the foamposite is super durable. Agree with nightwing on the flexibility, or lack there of. but this shoe is super comfortable and cushioning is best i’ve ever experienced. if nike ever makes a guard oriented hyperposite i’d buy those too. $225 Is worth the price.

  3. If I got this it would be gone in a year and half maybe less here in Phil you can only use outdoor courts. Btw night ever had an airunit fail indoors?

  4. I have the silver version with the translucent green sole and haven’t had any problems with the traction. I haven’t played on any really bad courts with them yet so I’ll give an update if the translucent sole doesn’t do well on dusty courts.

  5. ok nightwing, i know you only have the fireberry hyperposite, but have you seen the differences in the rear heel height in the four colorways nike has released so far?

  6. Awesome review, makes me want to cop this! Oh and by the way nightwing, just wondering, what would be your insights regarding the Nike Dual Fusion BB’s? Thanks in advance. Apologies If my question is way off the topic.

  7. Maybe that’s why a friend of mines 8 P.S. rear unit got pierced. He’d ball in them hard outdoor and indoor. AND wear them like casual beaters. But the thing is he wore the for like a year. Why would they get damaged outdoors I don’t get it. Can you explain why?

    1. IMO – the main thing with hoopin outdoors is Debris and Straight up concrete. Black top like schools etc can have crap all over the court and you could get the air bags punctured and not even know it. Concrete is so hard you will just work the cushion to death.

  8. I love these compared to the new Lebron X. not even the current best player in the NBA wear the best made shoe.

  9. your probably sick of questions already, but i hope you answer it. i hoop in the lebron 8 v2, and thats one of my favorite shoes. i was wondering if the flex on hyperposite was about the same as he lebrons or not. i hope you answer it.
