Air Jordan XX8 SE Gym Red/ White – Wolf Grey

Turns out there will be a Red based colorway of the Air Jordan XX8 SE and I dig these quite a bit.

This colorway will be releasing on March 1st for $150 which is when the Squadron Green colorway will launch as well.

I know some are hesitant to grab a pair due to the Zoom Air’s lack of durability and I’ve refrained – for the most part – from giving my thoughts on the subject but I’ll let you know what I think this one time… I just didn’t want people thinking I was trying to sell the shoe and not being genuine.

Personally, I feel these are a phenomenal hoop shoe and if you live within the US then I’d say grab them. Even if the Zoom were to break down, you have about 2 years to file a claim with Nike and get a full refund of the retail price in store credit which you can use to buy another pair or a different pair altogether. Those that live outside the US, I’m pretty sure that Nike will still allow you to send the shoes back and receive a refund, however, shipping is on you so that may cost more than its worth. Ultimately its up to you, I do understand completely that spending $150 – any amount really – on a pair of shoes that may break isn’t the greatest thing in the world but do know that the brand has likely been working on the issue if they plan on utilizing a Flight Plate setup with next seasons model… at least I’d hope they are. If you live in the US, you really can’t loose since you’ll get your money back. Outside the US… might not be worth the hassle if your pair happens to break.

  1. My superfly.2 air bag popped within 5 minutes of playing in them. Was pretty disappointed. And I can’t even return em cause I got em at the employee store.

      1. ya my superflys popped during my first game with it but my xx8 ses are doing pretty good after few months. maybe the vertical zoom bag placement made the shoe not as flexible therefore it didn’t pop.

  2. My carolina SEs popped but my Westbrook SEs are going strong. I will gladly buy another pair. I really like these red ones. Not sure if I should get the breds or these reds. Decisions, decisions, decisions…

  3. Worst part is u pay for shipping and have repay the taxes when you use the voucher online only..nike should let you use the voucher in their brick and mortar stores as well

  4. How do these fit? I bought the Hyper Rev in my normal 11.5 and they felt a whole size bigger, especially length-wise (there was a whole thumb space between my big toe and the tip of the shoe). I had to return them and unfortunately Footlocker did not have my preferred color in a size 11 or even 10.5.

Because these are projected to sell out fast, I don’t think I’ll have a chance to try any on beforehand and want to buy online. I tried the Melo M10 on, and 11.5 felt a 1/2 size big.

    Please help – thanks!

  5. Ima a big guy 6 foot 4 220 my melo m10 wich I ball in everyday for like 3 weeks zoom has not popped and is still amazing I think it depends on the player if your suck wich most of the people who will purchase these and have do your zoom bag will pop these where not made for awkward untalented bums who play at a park to where these where made for real ballers that play like real ballers if your movements are that of someone who is ass then your zoom bag will pop the shoe was not made for bums Basically IF YOUR ZOOM BAG POPS YOU SUCK AT BASKETBALL

  6. My superfly2’s popped the second time I wore them and the replacements weren’t made well around the laces. Returned them too. Have credit that I was going to use on the XX8 SE’s or Melo’s, but still scared of the Zoom issues. But wearing a size 15, I have so little to choose from or find at all, I might have to try again Saturday

  7. Just wanted to give a review on the SE’s, bout the Laney playoff editions on sale at Finish Line. After reading all the reviews I was worried about the zoom bag popping as I am 210, 5’10”, and I move, especially on defense. Reading the reviews on FL they also said the shoe does not have good ankle support, Wrong! I have week ankles and as soon as I tried these on I could feel the lock down and support. Fore foot cushioning felt kind of weird to me at first, only because I’m flat footed, but it’s something I didn’t notice when I was running. I only played in them 4 games, but so far I like them better than my Lebron 11’s. Nightwing and every other person already told you about the traction and all that, I just wanted to give my perspective on the support, being as I am a larger player. To me this shoe is awesome for all players and just give it a try.
