Jordan Brand has just unveiled its 2018 Women’s Holiday Collection and in it the brand showed off the Air Jordan 4 NRG ‘Fire Red’ for Single’s Day.
The shoe is designed for Single’s Day (Guanggun Jie 光棍节), a holiday popular in China in which single people celebrate their single pride. The holiday, which falls on November 11 because of the number 1’s repetition, has also come to celebrate relationships, which allows almost everyone to participate in it.
Single’s Day is the world’s largest offline and online shopping day. In 2017, Alibaba shoppers spent a whopping 168.2 billion yuan ($25.4 billion USD), according to The Guardian, and thus, Jordan Brand wants to make sure it has a product for the occasion.
The women’s Air Jordan 4 NRG ‘Fire Red’ is inspired by the holiday season and flaunts contrasting gum outsoles. The shoe uses a dual-layered upper, like the 2014 Nike SB x Jordan 1 Lance Mountain‘, so as the shoe wears the Fire Red layer will reveal an ornamental design beneath it.
Expect the women’s Air Jordan 4 NRG ‘Fire Red’ to release on November 11 for $190, according to leaker @zsneakerheadz.
