WearTesters Trash Talk: Under Armour Curry 3

  1. I’m really looking forward to the KD9 because of the cushion, but I am concerned about the heel lockdown and the traction. I’m in the ATL and the Lillards and Rose models are hard to find at my local shoes stores.

  2. Hey nightwing I purchased my d rose 6 primeknit from foot locker in Times Square in NYC

  3. Checking in from the city of wind. Absolutely sure one can walk into any corner store/gastation/mall and find a pair of Rose 6. Lillard 2’s home are scarce to non existent. But roads and boost models are here.

  4. adidas is not that hard to find here but hell the price range is almost nike level in my country.

    1. I’m anticipating the clboost ’16, looks solid all around not a big lowtop guy for on court use tho.

  5. Fyi- in South Carolina D. Lillard 1 and 2 available at footlocker, as are the rose 6. Curry 2 oddly enough, only available at finish line and champs.

  6. I’m in Chicago and the Rose 6 & DL2 are in the Footlocker on State st. The Curry 2 mid & low are there as well.

  7. I’m from the Quad Cities area (Illinois/Iowa boarder) in Illinois. We got plenty of Roses, one pair of JWalls, no Lillards, and very few Currys. Otherwise, it’s mostly just Lebrons, Kobes, KDs, Jordan XXXs , and Superflys.

  8. Rose 6 in the Bay Area = non-existent in my experience as those two already know. Jarron was dead-right in drawing to the point that Adidas really is underrated by their own fault, unless Footlocker and all have some incentives to cater more towards Nike. I mean HOH is a Nike/JB-dedicated expansion. Fix the exposure issue, and had the materials been consistent, thing would’ve really sold. I mean the Curry 2 isn’t bad, but the Rose 6 would’ve likely impressed much more imo.

KD9 seems like a reset button of sorts in Nike’s pricing structure/plan. Like they just shamelessly announced it right after the still-overpriced KD8 Elite. I guess part of that is due to the Olympics. Hopefully we see a nice trend going forward.

    1. not sure really how much Nike/JB is paying footlocker for that, but it doesn’t give other brands justice. champs is another big douche when it comes to that, although they are much worse than footlocker. thank god we gotSportChek to fill a bit of that 3rd party brand void.

  9. Lillard 2s are very hard to get here in Canada, and on Adidas.ca website. Some colorways dont even come out here.

  10. The KD9 seem great(I love the KD/Lillard lines(which cater to the same type of player), they do the 50-50 of supportive/movement really well).

I worry about the incredibly straight heel though, that’s usually a problem with lockdown, also, I want Zoom back at the footbed in the sole, it’ll fix any stability issues exposed Zoom/Air gets, and it’ll give more feedback to the player(which(and I thought I’d never say this) is missing too much in new releases, bottom-loaded, foam-packed Zoom just gives a hint of cushioning, and with the tough/hard Phylon these days it muffles any proper cushioning, it’s why Unlocked-Zoom has been such a success).

    1. Sorry for the double, but here in Europe, adidas has seriously scaled back it’s availability too(both in models available, as well as size-range), which is odd, it seems to be the exact opposite action, of their goal to become more visible, more of a pressence.

  11. Here in NYC they have closed down two the bigger FootLocker stores. Both the one across the street from Macy’s, and the one in Times Square are done for the moment, and both carried Rose’s kicks. The smaller Footlocker stores do not carry as much stock, and may not carry any Rose kicks at all, such as the stores along 14th Street in Manhattan. Nike has done a magnificent job at keeping top of the line Adidas product out of their stores, with the stores outside of the Footlocker chain no longer carrying top of the line Nike product such as the Air Jordan line. It seems as if Nike is closing their ranks, condensing their sales, forcing stores to deal exclusively, or risk losing their Nike accounts. Without Adidas being a major player, outside of Yeezy product, Adidas cannot force anyone’s hand at the moment. Adidas does not do hype well, but Kanye does.

In my opinion, this new KD shoe isn’t going to do that well at all. Sure, some people online are excited about the price and all, zoom max, blah, blah, blah…but at the end of the day, a shoe must look good on foot first, because much of the footwear that is purchased in the United States isn’t even used for which they are intended, both that and the fact that KD is not as hip as Mr. Steph Curry. KD’s new shoe may “perform” well, but that does not mean jack, because nobody knows for sure as of yet. However, this shoe isn’t really that hot to look at. It is interesting, but all the other companies have to do is to come up with something more pleasing to the eye of consumers, at the same price point, with a popular name attached and bang, people will forget about this shoe.

  12. Up here in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada we have a ton of d rose 6’s. My store right now has 5 colours and the all star ones with primeknit have barely sold at all.

  13. Im from NYC and checked for Lillards 2 and Rose 6 at Roosevelt Mall, one of the biggest malls in LI, NY, and none of the Footlocker, Champs, Dicks, Finishline, Footaction have them. Adidas store only had 2, yes only 2 basketball kicks on display, and it was a Rose 772 model and Lillard 1s.

  14. My local footlocker has the rose 6, but not the d lil. The champs used to have a bunch of rose 6 and dlil 2, buuuut for some reason they got rid of all their adidas bball shoes.. ALL OF EM. No longer carry adidas bball.

  15. Lillards are widely available here in Houston. I’ve seen the D Rose like, 2-3 times maybe.

  16. Hey nightwing, I’m from the Detroit area and I can’t find a pair of Lillards anywhere. I have never seen a nigga wear them tbh, don’t think they have them round here

  17. I really like the dynamic you guys have, really appreciating these trashtalk vids.

KD9 almost looks like its the elite version of the shoe straight from the get go. The specs and tech look great. I hope that zoom air articulation keeps things flexible enough, that is my biggest concern.
