Warriors fans waiting to add “The Town” Statement Edition uniforms to their collection now have a throwback option to rock in the meantime. The modern era Golden State Warriors have had quite an extensive uniform collection over the last few years, in addition to a couple of championship rings. This season is no different as the Warriors will be dressed in their new Classic Edition uniforms beginning tonight.
The uniforms hearken back to the ’80s period and pay special respect to a magnificent performance by Sleepy Floyd 30 years ago when he dropped 51 on the Los Angeles Lakers during the Playoffs.
The jersey features a white base with a thick blue trim. A variation of the unique circular graphic the Warriors have been known for is front and center with an outline of the California state. “Warriors” is placed over the graphic in a special font.
This uniform may not be the best the Warriors have to offer from a history of popular unis, but it still offers a clean look. Although these use a typical Warriors color scheme, we hope Nike, Anta, and Under Armour cook up some nice PEs to match these unis. Let’s hope for no more ripping of jerseys — what a shame that would be on a classic like this.
The Golden State Warriors Classic Edition jersey is now available as a Swingman for all team players at Eastbay and the Warriors Team Store. $110 for adult sizes and $70 for youth sizes.
