Up Close and Personal with the Nike Kobe AD NXT FF
We’re getting up close and personal with the Kobe Byant’s Nike Kobe AD NXT FF featuring the laceless FastFit system.
Borrowing from Jordan Brand’s Air Jordan 33, Kobe Bryant’s next sneaker will feature the laceless FastFit system.
Aesthetically, I wish there was a bit more of a visual differentiation between Jordan Brand’s FastFit system and Nike’s version featured on the Kobe AD NXT FF. Each model utilizes the midfoot pull strap and eject cord, which is weird since the presentation for the Air Jordan 33 felt like those design cues were made specifically to represent MJ and taking flight. However, as long as it works then I won’t mind too much.
Traction on the model looks insane. Not only do we see snake scales return as a pattern, but it’s done in a much more aggressive way than what we’ve seen before. Hopefully its more durable than the nubs featured on the Nike Kobe AD NXT 360.
Cushion will be Nike’s React, but we may also see a firmer foam used where the FastFit system sits at the midfoot to protect the unit and the wearer’s foot.
The shoe itself looks a bit boot-like at certain angles. Hopefully they look a little better once on-foot.
The Nike Kobe AD NXT FF is scheduled to release on August 24 for $200. Feel free to keep the conversation going over at our exclusive WearTesters Discord community until its release.
