Under Armour and Stephen Curry officially introduce the Curry 6 Christmas edition with the ‘Christmas in the Town’ colorway.
Stephen Curry has called Oakland home for the past 10 years and nearly every colorway of the Curry 6 is a tribute to ‘The Town’.
For this year’s Curry 6 ‘Christmas’, UA and Stephen Curry have teamed up with customizer and entrepreneur Devlin Braswell, @FBCCBayArea.
Devlin gives back to the community that has adopted him as one of its own with his FBCC Kids class. Within the class, students interested in sneaker and fashion design are taught how to create and customize — all of which is free for the young creators. When Curry approached Devlin about creating the Curry 6 ‘Christmas in the Town’ colorway, Dee-Nyce had a great idea that allowed these young fresh minds to collaborate and drive the design.
Snow, something synonymous with Winter and the Christmas Holiday, was the design’s starting point, leading to the white build. While it doesn’t snow in the greater Bay Area, the children brought up Lake Tahoe as the closest location they could travel to with their families to enjoy a white Christmas.
However, the kids wanted to create a Christmas colorway that could be worn year-round so they included ‘Carolina Blue’ to pay homage to Curry’s Carolina roots.
Through the translucent outsole, snowflakes are prominently featured. These snow flakes were hand-drawn by Devlin’s students and a graphic was created for the sole and insole to give it a personal touch.
Tech specs on the Under Armour Curry 6 include a spiral traction pattern, full-length HOVR cushioning and a full-length TPU speed plate.
The UA Curry 6 ‘Christmas in the Town’ will retail for $130 and will be available in limited quantities beginning December 22 at the SC30 X Oakland pop-up shop in downtown Oakland on 9th Street at Broadway (472 9th Street). Additional pairs will release December 26 on the UA App at 8am EST, followed by a 10am EST drop at UA.com and UA Brand Houses in the U.S., China and South Korea.
