Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors have done it again: they’re back-to-back champs, and they’ve have won three of the last four NBA Championships. Thus, Under Armour has dropped the Curry 5 ‘Fired Up’.
After a clean sweep of the Cleveland Cavaliers — the first Finals sweep since the Spurs swept them back in 2007 — Curry is ready to step out in a bright red sneaker. Covered entirely in what Under Armour calls “Pierce” red, the Curry 5 ‘Fired Up’ celebrates Steph’s will to find a way and his never-ending passion for the game. Three rings, two MVP awards, nine threes in a Finals game to set the record, and the Warriors first-ever back-to-back titles — it doesn’t look like Steph is slowing down either.
The Curry 5 ‘Fired Up’ features a fully knit build with Anafoam containment zones in the forefoot and around the heel. The shoe rides atop an EVA midsole for lightweight cushioning and court feel. There is a “squaring the circle” traction pattern underfoot for quick cuts. The Under Armour Curry 5 ‘Fired Up’ is available now at SC-V5.com for $130.
To honor Curry’s latest achievement, Under Armour has released a short film titled Will Finds a Way. According to the brand, the spot challenges the world to do something about supposed “Stephen Curry fatigue” — if people have a problem with Curry rewriting the record books, redefining what it means to be a shooter, and winning this much it’s on them to do something about it.
Stay tuned for updates because Under Armour will be celebrating Stephen Curry in Oakland next week…
