The Triple Black adidas Dame 4 is Spotted, Along with its Traction Pattern

adidas dame 4 triple black 2

This triple black colorway of the upcoming adidas Dame 4 looks mean as hell…

It was only a matter of time before another colorway of Rose’s upcoming signature was going to leak. The latest images also showcase the Dame 4’s traction pattern.

The pattern is wave-like with a few parts that could be considered multidirectional and we have no idea how it will function until we get it in-hand and on-court. We are also interested in seeing what adidas has to say about the pattern when the shoe is officially unveiled.

Strangely, the tag for this sample reads “Crazy” something, although this is rather definitely the Dame 4 (see the image below).

Thoughts on the traction pattern and this triple black build? Let us know.

  1. Dude, you might want to edit your write up. You mentioned it was “DRose 8” in your first paragraph.

  2. traction looks like….

….. it won’t hold up outdoors. i have no idea how well it would perform indoors. the pattern looks so weird.

  3. I can’t understand why brands play with different traction patterns – stick to what’s working and that’s herringbone. It’s as if car manufacturers wanted to see how a car would work if it’s wheels were… square

  4. Same point with everyone else, I guess. The traction looks horrible. I hope that this is still in prototype model. Dame 3 traction was pretty good.

  5. Like others said, that traction pattern just doesn’t look like it will work. Though, I thought the same thing with the Kobe 11 and the KD 9 patterns, and those both work great in certain colorways of the shoe(depending on what rubber was used).

I’m interested to see how these Dame’s perform, because I think the shoe looks pretty good.

  6. I really dont like these. while the Dame line has been the best bargain in basketball, the materials and design here look so cheap to me. I could never get past the look. it makes me cringe a bit. I cant figure out what they were going for. it reminds me of a takedown model you would have seen in the 90s (except w/ so much worse materials) for like $60. they should have scrapped this

  7. LOL! I’ll add to the convo in the hopes that someone from adidas actually reads this and cares. Go back to what works and don’t deviate. The traction on the CLB2016 has never been seen again. Why? It was good and durable. Why would they not use it again?

By the way, why is there a sound bite every time I come to this page now about Guardians of the Galaxy? WTH

  8. This traction looks terrible. It looks like dust would get clogged up inside that little crevice. It just looks bad, I think that will ruin the experience for everyone with this shoe.

  9. +1 on the background.

Traction is likely gonna be all compound, although regardless it looks like it can wear down fast. Subtle cutouts showing the shank plate are cool.

  10. I’d go against the crowd on this one and I believe the traction would be awesome on this shoe. my only concern is the durability. it may or may not be that durable depending on what compound Adidas will use. although I’m hopeful considering Adidas’ recent track record when it comes to consistency and durability, they are better than Nike or Jordan brand so far.

  11. If Adidas makes it as durable for outdoors then no complaints, even dame himself for sure won’t complain.

However… about that annoying Mercedes Benz ads, quite annoying that will suddenly pop out at high volume audio.
