PUMA has been revamping their classics, and their newer kicks, with knit mesh uppers to keep up with the tech the other brands are putting out. It looks like one of my absolute favorite PUMA models, the Blaze of Glory, will see its own knit mesh variation.
Dubbed by Kenlu as the PUMA Blaze Knit, the shoe seems to have undergone some changes. First off, it looks as though the shoe was fitted with a regular tongue as opposed to the bootie-style upper of the Blaze of Glory (contentious for many — some swear by the Glory’s original fit — but widefooters may appreciate this change). Second, the PUMA Blaze Knit adds branding (black on the pair below) to the side panels with the upper material change. Additionally, it looks like round laces will ship with these, a change from the flat laces customarily seen lacing up this silhouette.
The shoe doesn’t seem to depart from PUMA’s tried and true Trinomic cushioning (which I love — I have almost worn my Disc Blaze’s out but the cushioning is still extremely comfortable). Kenlu says there are more pictures and info on the PUMA Blaze Knit to come so we’ll keep you updated.
For now, are these changes to the classic Blaze of Glory welcome? Would you run in this knit variation? Let me know in the comments below.
