The Nike Air Force Max Arrives at Retailers

Anthony Davis debuted the new Nike Air Force Max during 2018-19 NBA Media Day and it looks as if they’re releasing soon.

Basketball shoes made for big men have been missing over the last decade and Nike Basketball plans on changing that.

The Air Force Max series is scheduled to reemerge in basketball world for the 2018-19 season and I know I’m excited for the comeback. While I don’t always prefer shoes with Air Max, I still appreciate them.

Brandblack co-founder, David Raysse, recently mentioned his BBB G3 design was built for the true big-man and it looks like Nike doesn’t want it to be the only one.

Sporting what looks to be a textile build with Fuse overlays, midfoot strap, high cut collar, TPU heel containment, a Phylon midsole, full length Air Max and multi-directional traction. This rendition of the Air Force Max looks like it could be a performance beast.

While a U.S. release has yet to be announced, the new Nike Air Force Max has landed in Japan and is hitting store shelves very soon. Hopefully we see these land Stateside sooner than later so we can check them out.

  1. The problem with these full length air setups is the lack of flexibility of the sole. How about they do what they did with the KDs and add a break on the forefoot flex zone. I think it would really work for this kind of shoe. Just dont have a tiny artery connecting them or there will be a lot of returned popped air bubbles.

  2. These remind me of my Air Max Elite. Hope that isn’t TPU that surrounds the midsole. It’s bad enough they won’t be flexible cuz of the air unit. TPU would make it worse.

  3. When you bring back the ‘Air Force Max’ name, you kinda have an obligation to match the style of the OG’s, and translate it to now, this sneaker, well….. it just doesn’t, it’s about as boring as it gets.
