When I saw the title of the shoe in the SNKRS app, I was surprised it wasn’t black and red or some variation of a Bulls colorway.
Interestingly, the Nike Air Max 90 ‘Chicago’ actually pays homage to what makes the Windy City so great. Drawing inspiration from the city’s historic greystone architecture and Wringley Field, where the Cubs play, the shoe gets a mostly grey look with a green collar and inner lining.
Notable details include the translucent icy blue outsoles that reveal Chicago street names and landmarks beneath them, as well as unique insoles that read ‘MILD SAUCE’ — a condiment that the city is known for. The accents on the tongues are very nice as well, including the 312 that hits the inside of the tongue, subtly making the shoe that much more interesting.
There is no release date set for these yet but you can keep track of them through the SNKRS app. Thoughts on these? Share them below.
