The Jordan Jumpman Pro Retro Appears in a Brand New UNC Colorway

A surprise has landed at select retailers as the Jordan Jumpman Pro Retro appears in a brand-new ‘UNC’ colorway.

Looking more like the original Jordan Jumpman Team 1, this edition of the Jordan Jumpman Pro looks just as pretty.

The Jordan Jumpman Pro sports a white “leather” (its description states they’re full-grain leather) build sitting atop a Phylon midsole with heel Zoom Air and a forefoot EVA pad. The Retro version of the Jordan Jumpman Pro is nothing like the original but they’re still nice to see come back around.

All of this is accented by Michael Jordan’s alma matter, UNC blue, paying tribute to his old stomping ground in North Carolina — perfect timing as the 2019 NBA All-Star Game is about to take place in Charlotte, NC.

Had this colorway released back in 1997, they would have been considered classics today. It’ll be interesting to hear your thoughts on this new colorway — if you happen to have any.

You can find the Jordan Jumpman Pro Retro ‘UNC’ available now at FootLocker.com and Eastbay.com for $140.

  1. My feeling is that these models like the Jumpan Team 1 and Jumpman Pro, at these prices, really should come back as ‘Protro’s…..

Jumpman Team 1 was my favourite shoe to wear from my high school years… played Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton… did everything in those….

But if the retros come back at this price, looking the same, yet with less performance, I don’t see why JB would even bother trying to sell them…

I loved them because they looked understated but performed well, and cost within my budget… as a retro, it’s really hard to see the value, even though the Team 1’s were one of my favourite pairs of shoes of all time.

  2. Without full length bouncy OG Zoom Air, wtf is the purpose. I agree, they definitely need to protro the excellent performers of the past. I can easily come up with a list of about 25 sneakers that should get the protro treatment.
