The adidas Crazy BYW has been refreshed for November with a price drop and it is releasing in two brand new colorways that are exclusive to Finish Line.
When the Crazy BYW and the Crazy BYW X (the performance basketball version) first debuted at the top of 2018 the shoes were expensive; the Crazy BYW, a “lifestyle basketball” model, was $170 and the Crazy BYW X was $200. As we head into the end of 2018 things have changed.
The two new colorways coming to the Crazy BYW, ‘Real Purple/Core Black’ and ‘Sesame/Light Granite’, will retail for $150 each when they land at Finish Line. Meanwhile, the top-tier Crazy BYW X, which is coming in ‘Core Black/Footwear White’ and ‘Collegiate Navy/Clear Grey’, has dropped down to $180.
After wearing the Crazy BYW casually for about a week I have begun to enjoy BYW (Boost You Wear). A Boost-cushioned update to adidas’ Feet You Wear technology from 1996, the segmented midsole and targeted cushioning certainly take some getting used to. However, I got a size that fit me well — wide footers go up a half size — so I started to feel the transition improve and my stride quicken the more I wore the shoe.
I’m a sucker for quality materials and the ‘Sesame’ colorway didn’t disappoint. There’s buttery suede everywhere, including the entire tongue, and the shoe doesn’t look like anything else on the market.
Two Crazy BYW and two Crazy BYW X colorways release on November 1 exclusively at Finish Line. You can pick them up in-store or online.
