Tech Specs for the Under Armour Longshot

under armour longshot tech specs 4

The Under Armour Longshot is already available in Europe at a couple retailers but they did not list any tech information. Now, official UA product DNA has hit the Interwebs.

The Under Armour Longshot utilizes what the brand is calling an “ultra-durable” fused mesh upper combined with a soft leather ankle collar and quarter panels. The asymmetrical eyestays and webbed lacing system should, according to Under Armour, eliminate excess material and buckling. There is an external TPU heel counter in place, as well as TPU overlays for abrasion resistance.

Cushioning is the perhaps the most interesting part of the Under Armour Longshot: the shoe features a Charged cushioning sockliner above a full-length Micro G midsole carriage. Beneath the heel and forefoot, within the midsole, are Charged cushioning units. This is an interesting set up that is the opposite of what UA usually does; as of late, the sockliner has been Micro G and the cushioning underfoot Charged. And yet, UA seems to slowly be bringing back Micro G — the Gemini 3 uses a Micro G heel unit, and the ClutchFit Drive 3 used a full-length Micro G foam layer.

Torsional rigidity in the Under Armour Longshot is taken care of by an injection TPU midsole shank. To help you get around, a multi-directional organic herringbone outsole is featured underfoot.

With all these tech specs, the only thing we’re missing is price. Overseas retailer have the shoe listed for £109.99 but that includes VAT. When we have a price Stateside, we’ll update you. If I’m allowed to guess, I’d say the shoe will retail for around $100-110 in the States. id4shoes, a reputable eBay seller, has the UA Longshot listed at $110 in sizes 7.5 to 11 here.

Thoughts on the Under Armour Longshot? This sounds like a promising basketball model that will be available in multiple team colorways.

  1. Now this is the real meaning of “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” UA again takes what worked and added some new features like the Micro G above Charged cushioning. Not to mention the price. yo Nike, have you heard it again? “FULL-LENGTH”

  2. Are there any UA ball kicks that have an inner bootie/sleeve, or at the least, elastic straps on the tongue? These look interesting, but I hate basketball kicks that don’t have a tongue that stays in place.

      1. I wish I could try those in person. Nobody near me sells UA not named Curry, and Dick’s has almost every UA basketball shoe except these.

        1. I would say to try zappos. Most ua models are there and I think you get free 2 day shipping and returns. Order a couple of pairs of the shoe you want and then keep the best fit. I do it all the time.

  3. I could see myself getting the blackout colorway. I really liked the Curry 2 but the lack of cushion did become an issue when my knee tendinitis flared up.
