Studiiyo23 May Be the Most Overlooked Sneaker Boutique in America

If you haven’t been following Coiski Media then you’ve been missing out on all the gems George Kiel III has gotten on camera — like how many sneakers the Golden State Warriors travel with. In the latest episode of Open the Box, Coiski Media went all the way up to Minneapolis to check out Studiiyo23.

Moh Habib, Studiiyo23 owner and world traveler, has created a Japanese-inspired boutique and art gallery that combines three different themed areas for a truly unique shopping experience. The main area is constructed from wood and steel (which is built mathematically around the number 23, Michael Jordan’s jersey number), there’s a “treehouse” area built entirely from environmentally-friendly reclaimed wood, and a consignment space emblazoned with stunning Japanese murals.

“The five pillars of what we were based on when we opened the boutique were: fashion, art, culture, music, and obviously the sneakers,” Habib told George Kiel. “But the whole concept, for me, started as an art gallery space.”

The shop’s name is just as interesting as its setup; it’s a studio, where an artist would work, and “iyo” is a Japanese word that refers to the concept “anything is possible.” DJs come through and spin records at Studiiyo23, and the space even plays host to community events the Minnesota Timberwolves put on.

Check out the latest episode of Open the Box below and share your thoughts in the comments. Of course, there’s a special giveaway so watch until the end of the video.

  1. Which one of those assholes over on NikeTalk will clown this store for spelling Studio as “Studiiyo”? I would not be surprised if that is the reason that this store is overlooked, especially by people like that.
