Select NCAA Baseball Programs Debut Nike Vapor Elite Uniform
Nike is gearing up a few NCAA baseball programs in the “more innovative and progressive uniform,” the Nike Vapor Elite Uniform.
According to the Swoosh, the Nike Vapor Elite Pants are 20% lighter than the sport’s traditional knit pants while the Vapor Elite Jersey, made from stretch woven fabric, offers maximum mobility with minimal weight. Nike has even changed up the headwear with the True Vapor Fitted hat that, according to Nike, features an exclusive bill construction designed to reduce weight, improve moisture management, and relieve pressure against the forehead. (I played baseball for nine years and it didn’t once occur to me that the hat I was wearing could be improved.)
Here’s the rest of the information from Nike:
But the whole is even greater than the sum of its parts: Each piece of apparel works with the others to enable athletes to be faster and push the game to new levels of performance and expression. This assertion will be put to the test starting February 19, when the University of North Carolina, Vanderbilt University and the University of Oregon debut the Nike Vapor Elite Uniform and team colorways of the Huarache 2K Filth.

Nike Vapor Elite Jersey
The Nike Vapor Elite Jersey is made of stretch woven fabric and tailored for maximum mobility with minimal weight. The elimination of side seams reduces arm abrasion and a full mesh back panel and mesh gussets underneath the arms enable breathability. A shaped hem reduces distracting bulk around the waist.

Nike Vapor Elite Pant
Twenty percent lighter than traditional knit pants, the Nike Vapor Elite Pant features a stretch woven fabric and targeted articulation for maximum mobility. The pant is also available in a throwback high version, equipped with an elastic gripper at the bottom of the cuff, allowing the pant to be worn above the sock. Ventilation in the rear knee facilitates thermoregulation, while forward-facing side seams help reduce drag when sliding.
