Founder and ringleader of the Round Two sneaker boutiques Sean Wotherspoon has finally unveiled his upcoming Air Max 97 collaboration.
According to Wotherspoon, he worked with Nike to make as many pairs of this corduroy (one of Sean’s favorite materials) Air Max 97 as possible, and make them available to “every part of the world.”
With “VA –> LA” embroidered at the heel, the shoe appears to celebrate Round Two’s growth from a small shop in Richmond, Virginia, to an ever-expanding force among sneaker boutiques. Round Two has opened new locations in Los Angeles and New York.
An encyclopedia of sneaker knowledge, Wotherspoon combined two Air Max silhouettes; the sneaker uses the upper from the Air Max 97 and the tooling from the Air Max 1. The tongues also feature swappable patches, like several other Air Max models.
For Air Max Day 2017, fans voted for their favorite RevolutionAIR-designed sneaker. Wotherspoon won, and Nike created his design. The sneaker will see limited releases in Virginia and Los Angeles next month before its global debut on Air Max Day in March of 2018.
There is no official word on what Sean Wotherspoon’s Air Max 97/Air Max 1 collab will cost, but it appears to be premium. Share your thoughts on the sneaker in the comments below.
