A Reebok JJ I for the City of Houston

Being a Houston Texan, it was only a matter of time before a JJ I dropped that celebrated J.J. Watt’s adopted hometown.

Last night, the three-time Defensive Player of the Year announced the release of the Reebok JJ I ‘City Pack’. This red, white, and blue trainer celebrates the city of Houston.

“When my phone rang on draft night in 2011 and a 713 area code popped up, I knew hardly anything about the city of Houston or the great state of Texas. As I look back on that night today, I could not have asked for a better group of fans to play for. Thank you for welcoming my family and I into your family. I am extremely proud to be a Texan.”

This latest JJ I is the first to flaunt a fade that blends the red of the Houston and Texas state flag with the blue that Watt wears on the field. White trim hits the midsole and Liquid Foam cushioning is used underfoot.

There is no official word yet on whether or not this is just the first part of an ongoing City series.

After a limited midnight release on Reebok.com, the JJ I City Pack is now available at Academy Sports + Outdoors and retailers nationwide for $99.99 (Watt’s jersey number is 99). It is also still available at Reebok.com in sizes 7 to 16.
